Here are two very early published pieces, both scanned from stats that the publisher had made. He had difficulty with these pieces because they were so big- I'd fedexed them the original art. How different things are today, I'd have of course scanned them myself and emailed the files :) I don't think he actually used these in printing after all, they are slightly washed out compared to the printing in the books. The seraphim is long gone, but I still own the dragon, it's in a frame somewhere. Someday I'll pop it out and scan it. This stuff is © Palladium books and appeared in Dragons and Gods, my first work in RPGs.

Charlie and I decided to try a more cinematic, widescreen approach to the storytelling- Joe did some new roughs and I finished and inked the pages- virtually the only such collaboration I've done in my career. Eventually Joe did at least one other take on these pages with his own inks before ultimately the project was shut down by another publisher doing Westlake inspired comics...

Back in abt 2004 writer Charlie Santino approached me about collaborating with my friend legendary comic artist Joe Staton to develop an adaptation of the novel "Anarchaos." The novel is a classic SF paperback written under a pen name by the late great Donald Westlake- Joe did rough layouts for this version with a different take on the main character, Charlie and I redesigned him and I created these painted pages. The cover painting was inspired by a sketch Joe did with the character facing away- it was actually a lot cooler that way but a hard sell to publishers. This cover remained attached to the series proposal but we ended up scrapping this version of the comic pages.
