It appears that the website for the Tunde books are the reason many have gone to my YouTube channel, blogs, seen me on FB, LinkedIn and so on. People must be going to the free childrens' books website that I have, showcasing the Tunde books - Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants.
On this website they see the Carroll Durodola YouTube Channel's episode "An Evening with Princess Ayo, The African Storyteller, Part 1", which of today has 15,492 views!!! Now people, I know that could be some parents letting their kids watch it several times at night or teachers constantly showing it in the classroom as a reward for their students, but still 15,492 views is substantial!!!
I am truly grateful to the Lord and His wisdom in having me write the Tunde books or start writing them, because only two books of the series are out. And the wisdom of God to have them be free to everyone. They didn't start off free, so some people in the early years of 1993 to 2009 paid $10 a book and I always SOLD OUT whenever I went to speak anywhere. But then the Lord said "give them away", (like He's said about most of the things I had :).
Everyone, thank you for watching. Thank you for your interest. It does a soul good.

Sallying forth to the Amazon site to see how my Tunde book is doing on there, I found out to my shock that the book, "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince" is out of stock!!! No word from the publisher, so if you want a copy, please order it directly from me. I'll for sure autograph it for you. The online e-movie book can be ordered at the same time. Also, the second book, "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants" is free as a e-book.
Well, the beat goes on. My watchword this Fall is - don't let anything stop you - so I'm forging ahead. How are you all doing?

Children in England, Kenya, South Africa, Israel & Nigeria, to mention a few are reading my e-book, "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants".
It's free and I feel good about it. Do people really get free e-books? Are they willing to use them? Is there a skeptiscm about them? For sure there is. I would wonder why a writer would write and illustrate a book and then give it away free. Maybe this is what pulled me back from even doing this when approached. But I was at my wits end. My publisher had failed me and was not speaking to anyone. I was writing more and more and felt like a stopped up drain. So I let it out!
Now children are enjoying the book around the world and even though I'm not making any money off of it, God is wonderfully providing for me. I'm not feeling the pince of the economy like other people because there's nothing to pince. And the amazing life lessons being learned about survival, compassion, meekness and love, are priceless. This is a cause worthy of support. Children that have books contributed them appreciate them I'm sure, but if they'are anything like my seven year old grandson, they love getting new ones. This way a teacher in England prints off the book in her school, the pastor in Kenya prints off the book in his town for his orphans and they bind them anyway they want (I can imagine the creativity that goes into that!) and each child can have their own copy of "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants".
Just as I was getting into doing illustrations for the next one, "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and His First Day At School", on my Acer Aspire laptop, it's motherboard went bad. I can no longer use it. I felt stopped, but whenever I get near a computer like now, in a friend's home or the library, the writing doggedly goes on. I'm more determined than ever because of the obstacles. If the devil thought no computer would stop me, he's crazy.
I'm even bold to say now, if anyone has a laptop they are not using, please let me know so I can tell you how to send it to me. My hard drive is great so if it's a laptop without a hard drive but has a great motherboard, I'll take it.
Blessings all.

I'm in it folks. I'm inside the Blizzard of 2010 in Washington D.C. area. Actually, in the town of Arlington. But 10 mins from D.C.
Tunde is now also an e-movie book and I got a comment from a family enjoying it.
One said: I played the audio-book for the children, we all loved it.
Thanks for that comment. I'm thinking of other ways to put the word out there that "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince" is available as an e-movie audiobook.
Above is the view from the window where I'm sitting, looking at the snow outside. Little Tunde never had to deal with this growing up.

A former co-worker of mine at Prison Fellowship Ministries out of Lansdowne, Virginia suggested taht she submit our book - Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince - to her staff, to see if they found it to be good for a project they are doing. They are having prisoners read stories to their kids, tape them reading and send it to the children for Christmas from their parents.
Isn't that kool! I'll let you know how it goes.

I don't really know what to say.
The Publisher hasn't been able to send me anymore books. I haven't got money to by a copy of myself. I don't know what to say. I hope other authors have this problem and I'm not here alone looking like a fool. I hope folks are buying the book and enjoying thoroughly. I know of one little 5 year old in India who enjoyed it.
This was be the illustrious life of a writer. I'm lovin' it. Won't complain. I have my hearts desire - following Jesus. He has led me here, so it must be good, for me, you, writers yet to be born. And one thing for sure I know, it's going to turn out good, because I serve a good God.
It's blogging time in my life. I can tell, because I wake up and thinking of a blog I want to send, gets me out of the bed.

Hi Everyone,
A little bit of sad news. Prince (Dr.) James ‘Tunde Durodola died, July 2nd 2009, at the age of 86. Yes, my dad has gone on to his wonderful home in heaven. That’s why it’s a little bit sad, because I will miss him. He was the best dad in the whole world and he was my pal and buddy too, but he’s dancing in Heaven now and having a ball! And I am soooo happy for him.
Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince books are based on his life growing up in his town of Egbe, Nigeria, and they will go on and I’ll keep writing and I hope you kids will keep on enjoying them. It’s sad to have someone you love leave you, but you can be glad when you know where they are and it’s the best place in the whole wide world and a place they’ve been longing to go to. Like he told me some years ago, “Well, I can’t stay here forever”, but I wanted him to.
The next Tunde book has gone to the publisher, Sweeties Books. Its title is Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants. (This was Dad’s favorite) Prince Tunde has an adventure! Stay tuned for its pre-release date!
Love you all, Princess Ayo

Well the ‘Tunde book one, has been on a little adventure.
We expected to launch the 'Tunde book in Washington D.C. and be at Busboys and Poets and big bookstores at Pentagon City, but instead we are in Atlanta, Georgia, where we have never lived and know so few people. It was launched at Cathedral Towers a senior citizen apartment in Buckhead to an audience of about 30 grateful senior citizens and one even bought a book. Of course I autographed it with a flourish. The Lord had told me three years before “despise not small beginnings” and I certainly do not. The next place the ‘Tunde book and I were, was at Butler Street CME Church and Trustee Adesina was buying a copy. His son, of the same name as ‘Tunde, had passed away some years before.
There it is folks. The book is bringing pleasure already, as I’ve heard from one reader who said he loved that I illustrated the book myself and it didn’t have the usual, as he called it, “slick, dark, complicated covers I saw on many kids books”. The ‘Tunde book and I are in Powder Spring, Georgia, in a home of recent acquaintances who don’t think I’m crazy to have come to Georgia, moved by the Holy Spirit, with no plan of my own except to write. They are a pastor and his wife and their adorable three year old, who has already been told the story of ‘Tunde by his mommy and loves it.
Until next time.

YIPEE!!! The book is out.
Oh my goodness, I am sooo excited!!
God did it! It's out. Did you see how long I had to wait? Did you notice how patient I had to be?
It pays off, for now Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince can be in the hands of every child in the world. I hope it does just that and is a blessing to many. I have a vision of children in the world who may not be able to afford to buy the book - $9.95 - being helped by other children in the world to buy it.
Bless you all for staying tuned. Buy as many as you can and spread the book around.

Hi Everyone:
Well, my children's picture book, "Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince" is about to be released. We (yep, you and I)are in the pre-publication or pre-release stage. I've never been here before, so I'm having to learn patience I didn't think I'd have to use. It's like other things happening in my life right now. I'm waiting. It's good to be here, though. Like they say, anything good is worth waiting for (well, actually I just said that).
"Tunde's" coming! "Tunde's" coming! The book based on my dad's life when he was a little boy growing up in the village of Egbe, is coming! I hope you ask me lots of questions and if you're too small to type, that your parents help you to type questions for me in the Comments section under each post. But I'll try to tell you things kids have been asking me for 20 years!!!, yep, that long, as I have traveled across America, telling African stories.
I'm new at blogging, so if you are too, that's fine. We'll learn together.
So sorry to hear your very sad news Princess Ayo, Your father will continue to be proud of you.
All the best.
Laura.
