This Vintage rubber Eskimo emotion doll is one of my favorite pieces from my vintage rubber toy collection. It has a knob on top of its head and when you turn it, the doll changes moods!
It's either smiling and happy, crying and sad, or grumpy and being a sourpuss baby.
These type of 3 faced dolls were made in the early 1970s in both Hong Kong and Korea. And I have seen them with outfits in a few different colors.
Usually i keep him displayed with a happy face, but its fun to change its expression. What is your favorite look of this cute toy?

Look what i found in my mailbox! A whole group of sweet vintage miniature flocked mice figurines!
- Squeak -
If you want to find some of these vintage flocked mice in your mailbox soon, check the shop, some are listed for sale right now.
They are totally adorable so we can't say goodbye to all of them. My husband picked out two to add to his vintage flocked animal collection. Of which he says i should take pictures and show here on the blog. And he is right.
Flocked animal collection photos coming up soon!

Recently my husband made me very happy by putting up this pretty shelf above my desk.
I just can't seem to decide what to display on it, so it changes almost every other day. And on this sunny Sunday, this is what is on my shelf today.
Almost all is vintage, except for the polkadot notebook, which i got from a friend in Japan, the spiral bound birthday calendar behind it and the kokeshi all the way on the right (last minute souvenir from Tokyo).
The big inlaid puzzle was my favorite find from my most recent estate sale spree and it was just asking to be displayed!
The big Italian squeaky bear and the cute lamb are for sale in my shop, but until they go to a new home, they're happily living with us.
What else is there? Oh the little yellow stuffed doggy. That's a little toy from my childhood. See a pattern on my blog? childhood toys rule lately! Here and here.
Postcard is from my vintage children's postcard collection, this one was shown before as part of my birthday post. (together with the yellow dog by the way) The vintage plastic frame is so great, no distractions of any real 'frame' around what you want to display and you just slide whatever you like in on the side of it.
The two porcelain kitties are just adorable. I found those on my last trip to the Netherlands.
That's it. Maybe another Shelf update next Sunday?

Since i showed you my childhood best friend recently, i think it's only right to also introduce Little Kollakol.
Here he is sneaking in his way in between some ceramic goodies.
(he likes to play)
Kollakol has been with me as long as i remember. He is also somewhat of my good luck charm. Whenever i have something new, important or exciting going on, he's always with me, hiding somewhere in my purse. To me he is totally adorable even though he misses an eye and is cuddled flat!
He was named after my tv hero Colargol which was named "Beertje (little bear) Colargol" in the Netherlands (UK viewers might know him by the name Barnaby the bear). I guess the French spelling went a bit over my head as a little girl, since i turned it into Kollakol. Plus it still amazes myself that my Kollakol looks totally NOTHING like the original Colargol!
Honestly? I remember the song more than i do actual Colargol. Probably because my Kollakol took his place in my mind and my heart!
ps.. the small blue pitcher in the photo is for sale in the shop! Kollakol? Never!

Remember the squeaky baby girl toy i showed in a previous post?
I had put her up in the shop. Glad that it is my shop, so i can change my mind at any time!
Because i happen to find her sister!
Aren't they cute together? How could i separate them?
Pink lady is showing her tummy, but her sister is showing her bum (while pulling up her pj pants).
I think its amazing that i found the pink girl in the Netherlands and the blue girl here in the US. They look very happy to be reunited and i promised them they both can stay here with us, they won't go up for sale anytime soon.

I could talk about all that happened over the last year, both good and bad. But lets just say it has been adventurous. Today i'm taking the day off to celebrate life.
Happy Birthday to me!
