Are you addicted to tv shows about antique picking and vintage treasure hunting too?
I have finally updated the list of current and cancelled television shows again. Many series have ended after only one season, but new shows are still popping up and some are still going strong.
Bonus to the list: it includes links for all the shows where to watch them online!

I’m spending a lot of my time lately getting ready to launch Retro Resin in the shop, but I’m definitely still also very focused on my regular vintage shop activities.
I don’t know if i'm unconsciously out looking for vintage resin, or that it is the universe bringing it to me at this time, but on my latest treasure hunt I came across this wonderful bunch of vintage resin flowers.
I remember as a young girl having a small resin paper weight with a real seahorse embedded in the clear resin. I wish i still had it. Will have to be on the lookout for a similar piece. Will find it someday. I did find this round paperweight with flowers embedded inside.
I might list it in the shop at some point, but for now it stays here with me. Retro Resin inspiration on my desk.
And for more resin inspiration, my treasure hunt also brought me several early 1970s vintage craft magazines, in them a few great resin articles and advertisements.
Article on how to make resin paperweights with small items embedded.
The Art of Embedding, Capture Memories crystal clear with American Handicrafts supplies.
A gift only you can give ... something you've made. Buy a gallon of Clear Cast resin, get a mold for free.
I'm going to list some vintage goodies in the shop now, and prepare to add the first pieces of Retro Resin later this week!
More pictures and updates on Retro Resin on Twitter and Facebook.

Pyrex ware so pretty it'll dress up any recipe. And any table.
I adore my vintage Pyrex dishes. It feels like every meal i prepare or serve in them, just tastes that much better. Food just comes out better when baked in the oven in a pretty Pyrex dish. The food is sprinkled with all the history and all the cooking skills of the women using the dishes before me. Works the same with my Nordicware Bundt pan. All cakes come out perfect!
I don't have the brown glass Pyrex Fireside dishes from this advertisement in my collection, but it does look very pretty. I found the ad in a 1977 Woman's Day magazine and i definitely will be on the lookout for the Fireside during my next thrifting adventures. There is always room in my kitchen for another piece of vintage pyrex love!
In the meantime here are a few vintage amber-colored glass dishes available on Etsy.

Going through a vintage fashion magazine, the Dutch version of the German Burda Moden (burda fashion) from December 1969, i came across this pantyhose ad.
The girls look so happy in their 'perfect fitting pantyhose'.
It reminds me of the guerrilla video shoot Kelly Cutrone did for DKNY in the last episode of Kell on Earth. Don't you think these girls could have been her power girls back in '69? Celebrating their femininity with the Bellinda pantyhose instead of the DKNY wrap sweaters in 2010.
In the 60's they didn't translate the entire Burda magazine for the foreign markets. Only the cover and the pattern instructions. All bylines, editorial pieces and advertisements were just printed in German.
My German isn't too great, but not too bad either, this is what i understand of the ad text:
Change awakens on the Mall. Perfection. No eye twitching. Hard Manner; the Queens' guards. Nevertheless: the improbable happens. Guards risk an eye. 7 Bellinda girls wearing the bellinda stockings - Eyecatching even for those with the bearskin hats. Women know that. Therefore the pantyhoses are liked by millions.

I've been doing some cleaning today, so this vintage Lysol advertisement from a decorating magazine from 1970 might be fitting.
Its basically what they still say today, just spray it everywhere against odors, mold and mildew. But i'm not really sure about the ad telling us to bring it everywhere. I don't really see myself going out with a spray can of Lysol in my purse to spray everything outside my home that i come in contact with! Then again, that's why we now have small bottles of hand sanitizer in our bags!

Found these lovely Avon advertisements in a couple of American Girl Magazines from 1976.
It's down to earth, but heavenly
Innocent but sexy
Goes where you go, but lingers where you've been
Sweet Honesty was Avon's top selling perfume in the 70's. For a lot of young girls back then it was their first real cologne.
Look at that backpack! I would like to have one of those!
You might not realize it, but Avon still sells Sweet Honesty! Just look at what is standing on my vanity right now. The cologne might have a different bottle than back in the day, but the creme still comes in the pretty round jar! I remember as a little girl admiring those similar jars my mom used to have, in all different colors. I must say the perfume smells a lot like baby powder. Nice if you like that, but it really is very baby powdery. Not reminiscent of. It just is. Baby Powder.
Throwing in this quick and shameless commercial break: Yes, i have a few American Girl magazines still left in the shop!)
What perfume do you remember from the 70's? (from yourself or your mom)

Advertisement from inside a Women's Household Magazine July 1970.
Lovable puppies with all-too-human expressions to bring decorating dash to livingroom walls or spice up a children's room with. They've got instant appeal and create a feeling of warmth and joy.
The artist, Coby, seems to know exactly the right touch to make these irresistible paintings spring to life.
These were printed by Colonial Studios and i would have been the first to send in the order form for these adorable puppies. The orderform also mentions in bold letters that the offer will not be repeated this season. I guess that means the offer also won't be repeated in 2010? A girl can dream..

Luvfibles ad from the back of Pack-O-Fun magazine May 1977.
Where can you find a guarantee like that nowadays? It says "If you order one kit for each member selling and you don't make the sums shown blow, I'll send you a check for the difference."
Even without that guarantee i love the cheerful Daisy candles! This second one comes from inside Pack-O-Fun November 1975
Often i wonder with ads like these from past craft magazines what would happen if i would actually send in the form. I know, probably nothing, the address won't exist anymore, or the person/company isn't located there anymore, but wouldn't it be wonderful if it would still work? I would put in my order!
Welp, won't have to make a list like this now that you have ;) Will have to link people to it. Love the vintage ad you have to go with it.
Yes, save yourself the trouble, there are so many shows nowadays! I update the list every so often. I appreciate the link!
