How to use this Page
You are viewing the most recent posts tagged with the words: theodosia in the JacketFlap blog reader. What is a tag? Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. Tags can both help you find posts on JacketFlap.com as well as provide an easy way for you to "remember" and classify posts for later recall. Try adding a tag yourself by clicking "Add a tag" below a post's header. Scroll down through the list of Recent Posts in the left column and click on a post title that sounds interesting. You can view all posts from a specific blog by clicking the Blog name in the right column, or you can click a 'More Posts from this Blog' link in any individual post.

Ta da! It is the official release of BOTH
Theodosia and the Last Pharaoh AND
Nathaniel Fludd, Beastologist, The Unicorn's Tale. Phew. And I have to tell you, it's true what they say about twins! It's twice the work. But worth it.
I'm also thinking we should have a giveaway. So...if you'd like to put your name in the hat to win a signed copy of both books, just say so in the comments to this post!
Also, if you'd like to read the first chapters of each, they can be found
here and
here.
*The contest will run for a week so I'll close comments at midnight on Tuesday, April 12.

Theodosia and the Eyes of Horus R. L. LaFevers
This series is growing on me. In this latest installment, Theo is once again facing many obstacles. Theo and her brother Henry have stumbled upon an Emerald Tablet, and every Egyptian society is after the tablet, and Theo. Even more than the Egyptian societies, Theo has to deal with an actual Egyptian magician. She can't trust anyone but the Chosen Keepers, but she's lost access to them. They still think of her as a child and when she and Sticky Will refuses to go through Clive Fagenbush (whom she also doesn't trust). Theo and Sticky Will are all alone, Henry's possessed by an evil spirit, and Grandmother is forcing Theo to attend the funeral of a traitor. Really, it's just another day in the life of Theodosia Throckmorton.
I like all the different loyalties in this one, and how Theo is not always the greatest judge of character. I also really like the interplay between Theo and Henry. Henry's rather absent in this series, so I like it when he shows up. I continue to love Sticky Will, and very much liked his brothers. While he's often around for comedic value, we get to see more of Will's vulnerability in this volume and I appreciated that.

***Theodosia Throckmorton (Theo for short), the young daughter of the curator of the Museum of Legends and Antiquities in London, is very busy these days. The year is 1906, and the world’s western powers are busily excavating the treasure

thou name art muse.
I've spent the entire morning pacing around like a pregnant cat, trying to get some writing done. Stared at the computer for an hour, got two sentences. Went to my Sacred Writing Space with my alphasmart, got one sentence done. Swore at my muse, did a load of laundry, ate my breakfast. Then, in desperation, I picked up a pen and notebook and boom! the words came.
Honestly. Couldn't the muse just tell me she's in a pencil and paper mood instead of making me futz about and waste two hours??
In other news, I'm giving away an ARC of Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos over on the Theodosia blog Feel free to pop on over and enter!
SO excited!!! I'm a huge fan, and would love to win these books (needless to say, I'll be reading them one way or another, but a signed copy would be amazing).
Congrats! And, yes, please, I'd love to be entered. :)
Congratulations! My daughter (age 7) and I are huge Fludd fans! Please enter us in the drawing. I can't say Shabib without her falling into a fit of giggles and that was way back in book one.
It's writers like you, who tirelessly whip out books and actually TRY to make them good, that give us readers fresh hope.
And yes, I'll have two orders of books, easy on the awesome.
Whahoooo! *\o/* So excited. Congrats! And please enter me... my kids and I LOVE your books. :D
My son and I are very excited to read about what Nathaniel is up to next...we've had the release date marked on our calendar for ages. A signed copy would be thrilling! Congratulations on both books.
i would love to be a proud 'mom' to the most awesome twins :)
Please don't enter me in the draw, as I'm a fellow kidlit writer (and Agatha rival - en garde!) but I wanted to say congratulations on the twins! I can't wait for my kids to be old enough for Theodosia and Nathaniel.
My 8 year old is so thrilled! He is so excited about getting his hands on it. Hope u r working on #5!
YES I WOULD LIKE TO WIN PLEASE! Theo and Nate are awesome, and congrats on the double book birthday!
My wife loves Theodosia and can't wait to get the new book. Unfortunately, none of our local bookstores currently have it in stock. I'm sure she would love to win signed copies.
* Congratulations, Robin! I enjoyed the first chapters. I'm tossing my name into the hat, hoping I'll be lucky.
I've not read the Beastologist series yet, but I LOVE Theodosia! So excited! Congratulations!
Oooh, me, me! I want a copy. A two-fer. You're a genius!
I would LOVE to be entered for this giveaway--R. L. LaFevers is a wonderful author, and my friend and I both love her books! She has such spunky characters, and it's always refreshing to read about a strong-willed girl solving mysteries like Theodosia!
A signed copy of either of these books would be perfect. Both are the best in the series so far.
Me,me, me, me, me! I've been a big Elzabeth Peters fan for years, so fallling in love with Theodosia was almost instantaneous. Congratulations on your fraternal twins!
Congrats! Can't wait to read them. Can I be put in the hat for both books please?
Starting Nathaniel today. Theo next. Yay !
Congrats, Robin!! Whew, what a day. I would of course love to be entered in the contest. Either way, Theodosia is on my to-read pile.
So excited for you, Robin! Congratulations--and pick me!!
My 11 year old ate the Theodosia books up!- I was worried her brain would get indigestion!
I would love to join in!
I'd be overjoyed to have these twins in my personal library! Can't wait for the Dark Teen Assassin books to come out, too!
Happiness is a new Theodosia book!
We are so excited! Can't wait to get ahold of a copy of each so my kids and I can read them. Still waiting for the library to process their copies, but we're first on the hold list! Cingrats!
I would grovel on my hands and knees for those books, but this seems like the easier option.:)
Enter my name, please.
Would love to have autographed copies for my elementary school library :)
I feel a little like a schmuck, entering to win these books, but here I am, saying, "Yes please!" If we win, we'll donate our current copies to the library.
Congrats! Can't say I've read any of these yet (though I do intend to), but I do work at a library and know they are growing in popularity. I'd love to be entered in the drawing!
Robin, you remain one of my very favorite people in the entire world, and your wonderful books are only part of he reason. Maggie is so excited about the new Theo, and Emile is bouncing about Fludd. Thank you, a million times "Thank You!", for creating such wonderful characters. You totally rock! Needless to say, we'd love to win. :-)
Congratulations. I can't wait to read your new books. I'd love to win.
