I treated myself to some new art toys recently.
The one on the left is the newest love of my life, my X-acto School Pro electric pencil sharpener. This thing is amazing! It sharpens to the sharpest point I've ever seen, and FAST. Its designed for school use, so you know its built to last. You can adjust the hole size to accommodate whatever kind of pencil you're using. And its pretty quiet too. (Office Depot isn't the only place that has them. I bought mine at the art store here, and the prices vary a lot, so maybe shop around.)
The other thing is my "Tool Turn-about" from the Pampered Chef, which I'm using as a pencil caddy. (Thank you Nicole Caulfield for telling us about this!) Its spins, and is very sturdy. You can see how it was put to use on my last piece (the little tomatoes from down below).
Both things have made my life easier, and that's always a good thing.

Ah now YOU have the best toys! If I cannot get a Cintiq digital drawing tablet I will certainly make a concession and find an X-acto School Pro thingy.
You even make your toys look like art.
How are you liking the exacto sharpener? Can you change out the blades, or do you have to replace the whole machine?
So far I haven't had to do anything! Its working great, hope it stays that way. (I didn't even know you COULD just change out the blades on these things.)
Hi Paula! I don't know if you can change blades, but Exacto is in the "blade business" so I was making the stretch. Colored pencil tends to glom up the blades in a short period of time, and I was looking for an alternative to buying a whole new sharpener. I have a 'collection' of Panasonic sharpeners. :)
I have one of those pampered chef caddy's too. Aren't they just perfect for supplies?
Hey Roz!
Yes, its the coolest thing. Now my pencils don't have to roll down the hill of my drawing table anymore. They're happy.
I use two of the pampered chef organizers...A gift from my wife to lessen my pain when she told me about the rest of her order :).
