I love this guy. Those teeth are wicked. And I'd hate to be the poor sop who has accidentally attracted Jimmy's attention. Very cool.

Wow, none of my own kids got any of my "drawing ability." This is pretty impressive for a 4 year old. I love the complimentary red coconuts to the green leaves. Common...kids know coconuts are brown...but look what he did.

Conversation while viewing Dad's blog from Mom's computer:

4-year-old (with a big grin): "Hey! That's my picture. Did Dad stuff it into the computer?"

Mom: "He scanned it."

"When he scanned it, did it stuff it into every computer?"

"Elk" looks remarkably similar to the goat-innkeeper on "Stardust" - if you haven't seen it, I recommmend it. It was delightful.

Great Goth Chick! She's perfect, all the way down to her skull earrings. I married a girl like that. I also like the redhead. Funny, my goth wife rebounded after kids and looked like the second lady. Now she hovers somewhere between. :)

I love your art it's so creative. I'm amazed at the way you stylize your characters! I was one of Hala's students and she showed us one of your originals (the frog with the polka dot pajamas) it was so sweet. We also experimented with one of the textures she said you use sometimes, with the gel medium and a roller. Anyways, now i'm just blabbering, good luck with your stuff it's awesome.

Your diving bell man, and the upside down girl are my favorites. I need to do more of this, sketching I mean. I've been swamped and am getting in a rut. Sketching for fun would probably loosen the creative gears. Thanks for the inspiration.

Guy, have you ever used markers for color work? Some of these sketches reminds me of the days when I was in art school and Pantone markers were still used a lot. There used to be some folks who were really masters at using them, so this is supposed to be a compliment! Maybe it's the brushes you're using. You use them in a way that I just can't seem to... just perfect layering and brush strokes.

Ted, I don't think I've used those markers since the ole school days too. These little skeches are usually done with whatever paint that I have out at the time. Mostly acrylic but sometimes gouache or whatever. Anyway, thanks for the comments.
