Flowers or a bouquet can repair or help to say "I'm sorry". My submission for Illustration Friday's "repair" theme is a greeting card from my Applesaucey Kids line.

Henry Houndog needed a repair after jumping before looking. Chasing rabbits is great fun, but you need to watch out for sticker bushes when you are 'hunting.'

This has the most wonderful feel of 1900 about it! The cheerful colours just sort of rotate around the illustration. I now have my Canned Heat CD! Thanks.
Beautiful! So tender!
Hello again,
This appears to date back to 2000 yet so contemporary however, my new blog - is finally on ...
See you there, hopefully
What a sweet illustration. I love the colors and the poses. The little boy is just darling.
the definition of repair used in the best sense~! and the music to back it up.
:)
So sweet illo and I agree that flower do a miracle! Very nice.
I've always loved your Applesaucey Kids! The little boys' stance is perfect!
Very sweet take on the topic. (I do have to say I'm a music wet blanket--I always find music starting up when I come to a website very startling.)
a completely new style of art for you. Very sweet.
ohh i like the boy's attire! and beautiful flowers!
val, i think these are the first people i've seen in your work, they are sweet and i especially love the potted flowers! also, i'm addicted to jd's 'when you're only lonely'!
Oh my gosh! This is so cool dood!!! I love it! This is some different than what I see you usually do..I love both. You are so multi-talented! Rock on with your bad self! ;o)
Go girlfriend!
xo
dood!
Sweet with a vintage feel.... I like your music Val!
I miss mine.
Aah! So this is how the men learned. That flower girl is so cute and giving the boy those beautiful eyes. That boy may not give those flowers to his intended after all.
wow it looks really good
Oh, WOW! This looks like one of those darling Valentine's cards from the 1940s or so. I love it!
so sweet, unfortunately men use flowers to try and cover up wrongdoings!!! or am i just being too cynical?
My comment remains...amazing
When I was a puppy, I loved apple sauce and kids. This is very nice too. Love Bad Dog
this is beautiful. it reminds me of an embossed postcard my greatgrandmother gave my mom...it was a of pink roses, and it was the most beautiful card i've ever seen. i have it now...my mom left it to me when she passed. the colours are rich and yet delicate at the same time...just like roses can be. and that's what i see in this illustration...a richness.
What a beautiful card! Yes, more flowers are always welcome.

Wow! I would love that if someone give me a lovely and thoughful gift like this.
With just a card as gift but it does means a lot....
Thanks. This is another sugary piece.
Love the multi-soft colors that you employed for the flowers here!!!
By the way, I have a friendship award for you ValGal Art:)
I wonder if the bigger the flower package, the bigger mistake that had to be forgiven? Or not? :-) Nice illo.
I love the sentiment - So unusual to see figures rather than houses but as usual it has that delightful Val-touch. The flowers are cute too!
very sweet
Oh, flowers are friendly and loving. Great work!
adorable!
All kinds of cute. Are those morning glories in the corner?
Wonderful and magic scene!.. =)
wonderful illustration and sentiment…
Hi Val, to answer your question, I took it off because of negative remarks.
I really enjoyed matching the song to the post. A total sensorial experience...uh oh, there goes that child of the sixties coming out of me again!
I've been looking for a player that allows more volume control. I thought if I played the music really soft, a visitor could turn it up if they wanted to hear it.
Great nostalgia in this illo!~
Oh, and I love the Al Green version of the song...you have good taste.
Beautiful work-- love the retro feel. Excellent colors as always.
I have a bunch of those postcards, that my grandfather sent my grandmother a very long time ago. Very sweet! (my heart prefers chocolate, though).
Love the updated Victorian feel, I love anything retro. Very nice treatment! Oh, and a perfect sentiment for this weeks theme!
It captures the magic of vintage cards to a tee. Lovely
This is so lovely! You are so talented!
