1. Irish stories and poems wanted for anthology

Blue Mountain Press is looking for inspirational stories and wisdom related to Ireland or Irish culture for an upcoming anthology. Accepting stories and essays (100-600 words) and poems (non-rhyming; no minimum word count). Stories should include "a pithy saying at the end, which sums up the inspirational message of your story. For example: 'Laughter is brightest where food is best.'" Payment: US$50 for anthology rights upon publication. Deadline: March 1, 2009. In outer space, no one can hear the corn scream!... Or for that matter, grow really big. I did this for the Department of Agriculture in DC some years ago. And I always thought they were stiff and very dry. They seemed to really like the humor.
