I love Mark Blevis' description of PAB2007. "...large enough to be a conference, but small enough to take a great family photo..." Here's a photo taken by Jim Milles that represents Mark's sentiments! Tags : jim milles, Mark Blevis, pab2007, podcast family

We attended the Podcasters Across Borders conference this past weekend where 86 amazing children’s books were collected as part of a book drive for Kingston’s Central Public School. The conference attendees also donated $291 to the school.
As a result of our busy weekend at the conference, the June 25 episode will be delayed by one day.

We’re coordinating a children’s book drive as part of the Podcasters Across Borders 2007 conference taking place in Kingston, Ontario (Canada), June 22-24, 2007. If you’re attending PAB2007, here’s what to do:
- Buy a brand new copy of one of your favourite children’s books
- Bring that book to PAB2007
- Drop the book off in the book collection bin at the conference
- Feel great that you are helping a school turn children on to reading
All books collected will be donated to Central Public School in Kingston, ON.
As an added bonus, you can qualify to win an author-autographed children’s book of your own. Submit a two-minute audio review about the book that you are donating and what makes it one of your favourites to the Just One More Book!! podcast. Your name will be entered in to a draw.
If you have questions about the book drive, email Andrea.

Today we stray from our beloved children’s books to invite you into the podcasting fold.
If you’re a podcaster — or a podcaster-to-be who is in need of a nudge — Kingston, Ontario is the place to be the weekend of June 22-24, 2007.
Podcasters Across Borders 2007, the second annual not-for-profit international podcasting extravaganza, will provide you with a full arsenal of podcasting how-tos — from audio production techniques to podcast promotion and podcasting in an educational setting — and a chance to spend a weekend with generous, talented, friendly members of the Canadian, American, Argentinian and British podcasting community.
PAB 2006 resulted in our “Just One More Book!” podcast. If 2007 is half as inspiring and half as much fun, it will be well worth the $75CDN.
Hope to see you there!

Hi vivian. this the first time i’ve listened to a ‘podcast’. it’s really exciting to be involved in this form of information sharing. i’ve been taking a courses that focus in on critical literacy and “new literacies” so — there have been many ‘firsts’ for me in the last few months. I mean ‘firsts’ in the way of collaborating on line, viewing sites on the www (that i never even knew existed) and more importantly; learning how to use them as teaching and learning tools. wow!
so thank you for this exciting experience.
