1. Back From Houston (with bells on)... and Illustration Friday: SPENT

I may not look the part right now, but this I how I feel on the INSIDE.

This works for IF, too! I was SPENT from my trip when I drew this, and this Glamazon surely SPENT lot$ on those $wanky $hade$!

2. shrinky dink keychain micro-art

Here's a Shrinky-Dink keychain I made while goofing off a few weeks ago. I just downloaded pics from my camera, and there it was. Fun little cat!

3. Happy Bulldog

Here is a happy bulldog. I drew this guy while we were at Brigham & Womens, sometime in the first couple of weeks after my mom's stroke. Time goes by so quickly! Anyway this little character keeps finding his way into my drawings. (You might even recognize him!)

In other news, I'm starting to get ready for the Boston Handmade Marketplace in Union Square, Somerville. This craft show will be held on Sunday July 11th. I will be there, selling my artwork and painted goods, and will share space with my sister, jewelry maker Nancy MacCallum of NancyRosetta jewelry. It will be a lot of fun! Please come out and see us!!

4. Still here

I'm still here.

I check my blog every day to see if I made a new post. It's been so long, I think... this girl really needs to get on the stick. This blog is getting dusty.

Then I remember "OH YEAH... IT'S MY BLOG".

Life is slowly returning to a new kind of normal now. I am not even remotely there with finding a regular schedule for freelance and other art projects. But I DID turn on my computer in my studio today. And I AM contemplating restarting some goal-oriented projects I was busily working on before my mom had her stroke. So you could say I am definitely making some progress on making some progress.

Here is one of the many drawings I made while in the hospital the first week after my mother's stroke.

5. Illustration Friday: Island

This is another ATC I recently made. I call it "Fiery Kitty on Volcano Island". You can see the volcanoes in the distance along with other 'island landscape' accoutrements... Hope you like! (Click here to see another one of these Marvy marker ATC's which I posted at the Sugar Frosted Goodness blog last week.)

I had another unthinkable episode of DISK FAILURE tonight (YES -- for the second time this summer - can you believe it --what is in the air??). This time, it was not my main hard drive like in July (which was replaced under warranty-YEAH!!), but instead it was my main external that I work off of (I don't usually work off my internal hard drive). I also have a back-up for my that one - my active external (the one that is now not working), but I had not backed it up in a couple of weeks. Luckily (...I guess) I have not been doing digital artwork in the past couple weeks and saving it directly to my external hard drive, but I *did* lose a slew of cropped and organized scans that I saved there. Oh well -- I can rescan, no biggie, and I could have lost a LOT more.
