(Not quite “cracked”, but I was doing warm-up sketches this morning and put this together quickly. Maybe I’ll do some others later this week.)
I remember being influenced by this little ditty when I was a kid. Were any of you? Not that I really thought I could do harm to my mother, but the idea [...]
Ehehehe! I didn’t knew the poem but I agree with the justification you gave. Anyway it works very well for this week’s theme.
I remember having mild obsessive-compulsive tendencies when I was young (counting and recounting, touching things in order, touching objects an equal number of times) and this rhyme did not help. I definitely remember trying not to step on cracks. Logically, I knew nothing would happen if I did, but there was always this nagging question about whether I could be wrong. I didn’t want to take any chances
I like the energy and the composition. Makes it seem bouncy like you would be if you were walking and had it running through your head.
And I should have thought of this one. My little girl goes around saying it all the time. I’ve gotten her to say, “Step on a crack, break daddy’s back.” Love the illustration. Very clever.
OMG everyday we cut across the blacktop from lunch, my Kindergartners yell at each other, “Don’t step on any cracks!!!!”
This is cute, and I always love your colors and the shading.
Wonderful concept and execution! I like your illustration style a lot!
Great work! Been trying to walk most evenings. I subconsciously avoid stepping on cracks. It makes the walks more interesting, and probably uses more muscles trying to dodge cracks.
OH how I adore your work. This illustration bring me right back to my school days. Your work is so loose and wonderfully fresh and fun! Great piece. I will be back for more of this wholesome goodness.
I remember that. I still have a tendency to step over cracks in the sidewalk. I guess I was an impressionable child.
I love this illustration! Perfect for I F this week. I remember this little chant from when I was a kid and it was a long time ago. The forties! So its been around a while.
You have captured that kid feeling so well.
your drawing always makes me happy even though i’m feeling left out of the context … its so fresh and bright…
