1. February Reads

Another month has passed, and so it’s time to have a look at what I read for February. Pleasing to see my balance being restored towards my chief love – books for children. This month I indulged my six year old self and tracked down old copies of AA Milne’s poetry from Ebay. I loved rediscovering them and have moved from there to lots of other verse and poetry, so look out for them in my

2. Thanks Linsay


Yesterday afternoon I tripped into the Tea Rooms at the Queen Vic building in Sydney to attend the farewell afternoon tea for my wonderful publisher Linsay Knight at Random House. Linsay has been a bedrock of the industry. Nearly as long as my books have been out there Linsay has been part of my bookshelf, either as a publishing colleague or more recently as my Publisher at Random House, but always as a friend. It has always been a joy hanging out with Linsay.
Along with the delightful Mark Macleod and Belinda Bolliger (who were also at the afternoon tea) Linsay has been working on developing great Australian kids writers and giving us a voice and getting us out there. She championed Sounds Spooky and look what that has done!
