My submission for Illustration Friday's "wilderness" is a doodle piece on a scrap of arches paper notice the deckle edge. I call this "leave a little light on". I have lived in a lot of little houses that look like this :)

Beautiful work.
Hey val, I love this house and thanks for leaving the light on :o) Simply beautiful. I have to draw a bunch of houses on a page for a book I'm working on... while I was sketching I was thinking..."I wish I could whip up houses like Val!" :o)
this is the masterpiece you offer the world, val: sanctuaries with alittle and enough light that reminds all is well.
i feel so lucky that i stood in your studio(s), know you, love you!
Hey Val! I would love, love, love to sign a book for you. It would be such an honor for me. You are a friend an encouragement and an inspiration. thanks

lovely little house
On my way home from the forest I can see that little light in that precious house. What a lovely sight.
I too have lived in little houses.... they are always just the right size at the time we are within.
Hi Valerie, I tried to sign up to follow your blog and couldn't find a "followers widget". Am I missing something? Thanks, Susan
delightful, it's so intimate and the lights on gives great peace :o)
the light on gave an impression that it is warm inside. i like the blue background also.
That lavender against the royal blue is stunning. It looks peaceful/magical/and warm! I love the simplicity and elegance of it. LOVE, LOVE IT!!!
This is so lovely and sweet, Val! Colors are wonderful.
Love this!!
oh, what a darling little house!
I always enjoy your sweet houses! This one is lovely on the deckled paper..very nice!
I love your little house Valerie. The pointy roof made me think that maybe a good witch lives here baking magic chocolate chip cookies every day for anyone who comes by in the cold snow who just might be needing a cup of hot chocolate. It gets the imagination going.
Such a lovely place to come home to after being out in the wilderness!
If I was wandering in the wildnerness, I would be very happy to find such an adorable house :)
