I think most of us make our lives out to be more complex than they really are.
I know I do.
We get overwhelmed by situations that present themselves to us without warning or invitation. What if we stood on the edge and saw intricate beauty in life's challenges and shouted "Thank you Universe!! Message received."
Then we could tend the rice fields in baby steps, one paddy at a time.
For Illustration Friday's promt: intricate
acrylic and colored pencil on card stock
I think this is something we learn as we age Lolo...one rice paddy at a time...of course sometimes life can whack us up side the head and it might take some time to find the lesson in that.
Your painting is lovely and tells an important story.
While your art piece is wonderful, your words are even more impressive! Perfect Lolo!
Both painting and words are poetically beautiful!!!!!
Have a nice Sunday!
Wonderful illustration - the colours are marvellous and I love that BIG open space with the one tiny person!
lordy lordy, this is wonderful.also been sooo busy, wanted to ring you today, off to see maggie, lots to chat to you about, will try when i get home later or e mail you. huggles for sunday.
Simply beautiful. I thought it was a photograph at first. Beautiful color that draws you into the painting.
i've been back to view this multiple times. i don't know what draws me in more: the life affirming colors, the solitary figure, the twists and turns of life. but one way or another this 'speaks' to me. nice work, lo.
Laurel, I like your picture but it is your words today that I love.
Wonderful and I am copying that just so I can look at them. xoxo
Love Renee
wow! nicely done.. :)
That's an idea I need to remember. It's too easy to get completely overwhelmed, and forget the thankfulness.
I have to agree with kj -- this really draws me in. Wonderful.
THIS!...THIS is now my newest all time new favorite of yours....OMG...chill bumps everywhere...going back for yet another look-see...can't get enough!
Sage advise from a wise soul...
Now I'm off to tend my rice paddies... one at a time!
This is SO true! Beautiful piece.
intricate… absolutely!! inspiring wonderfully peaceful… great work!
I am in awe; I could not imagine using acrylic and colored pencils for all of the detail in this work of art. It's narrated beautifully too.
Oh I thought this was a wee man tending a gigantic leaf. Beautiful image!
Wow! Just so plndid Decision.
Loving all the green here:)
Just beautiful
This is wonderful! Beautiful image, inspiring message!! Very nice work.
As Yogi Berra said, when you come to the fork in the road, TAKE IT! Nice painting.
Fantastic, Lolo! I love your message and agree wholeheartedly. We're so needy at times and make life dramatic for attention and out of need to escape the beautiful rawness of being on the edge. This is perfect. Precious illo. Thanks!
So true and well done!
When I first saw this I thought it was a leaf...like the feel of this...and true words...sometimes we can manufacture drama and it gets to looking like a jerry springer show...not that I watch that junk...
This is a truly wonderful, wise, artful, and uplifting post!
Beeeautiful green work of art! Fresh and refreshing! 'One paddy at a time' and thankfulness is the way! Though I'm trying to multi-task and go for maybe 2 paddys at a time...
Beautiful image and well, what can I say, such inspiring words... So true.
The new place is coming along, but as you say it so well, one box to unpack at a time...
;D
Laurel....Laurel......Laurel,
This BEAUTIFUL painting, and the lovely prose that followed, are EXACTLY what I was speaking of on Monday. What you say, how you say it, and the paintings that convey so much, all speak of "the shine" that lives within you (the vibrations of your heart). All of it is so relevant to the human condition and our own hearts. Thank you for giving so much of yourself, your inner self, to others. I know so much healing is taking place by your presence in the world. Please remember to wrap yourself in this healing you give to others (both two/four legged creatures). Love, Nancy B.
As usual, I come here and get the message I need to hear! I am definitely going to try taking one rice paddy at a time from here on out! Lovely image to contemplate while I do. Very peaceful and verdant. Ooooommm!
