The kids in my illustrations usually looks about 5-7 years old. I made an effort in this illustration to make the kids look a bit older. Closer to 10 years old. I think it's difficult to draw older kids. Maybe I just need to practice it more...

Set in the 14th century, this historical romance transcends the typical highland romance fare usually offered up by authors by adding a touch of magic to the mix. I hesitate to call it magical realism, but it treads the line between the fantastic and the everyday. A well told tale.
