I'd like to write about some books I've been reading.
Or about the trip I've been on.
I'd even like to write about what's keeping me from writing about those things; i.e. the reason my arm's in a sling. (It's not broken, thankfully.)
But typing with one hand isn't the easiest thing in the world.
I do match my grandpa now, though. His arm's in a sling, too. And together we won a game of bocci ball . . . single-handed! *chuckle*
Okay, I'm tired now. You're lucky you got a post with capital letters.

Here's some of the highlights from my latest trip to CA....During our layover in the Salt Lake City airport we were able to briefly see my cousins (pictured with my brother and I left) and two of my aunts. I miss my cousins tons, but at least we got to spend a little time with them.
I played with Tori and Kenny (the older two) on the escalator a bunch. Reese (the littlest) obviously wanted to go on it, too, so I took him down once. When we stepped onto the moving stairs, his face lit up completely. He got this slow, incredulous smile on his face, like he couldn't believe we were moving without walking. It was so, so sweet.Reese is ADORABLE. I fell totally in love with him during our short visiting time.
Mom and Reese (doesn't he just make you melt?):We stopped at the beach one day in CA, but it was absolutely freezing, so we stayed for maybe . . . two minutes? (I really like the lighting/colors in this picture.)
This is a cool picture of seagulls at a look-out we stopped at.
Here I'm with an orange tree and Miss Lexington (Lexy for short). Lexy was the funniest, strangest dog ever. After three days of being around her, she was still afraid of us. One of us would reach out to pet her and she would back away as fast as she could. And barked tons. Towards the end, she did start warming up a little . . . she climbed in my lap once. But then a while later she'd be shy again. She was so funny-looking, I would laugh almost every time I looked at her. Such a bizarre, ridiculous puppy.
Here she posed (I'm serious) for the camera:

I've been in California the past several days, which was nice. But I've come down with bronchitis, which is not-so-nice. Especially when you have to ride on an airplane. Oh, what misery. At least tonight I can sleep in my own bed. . . .While I was down there, I watched The Spiderwick Chronicles movie, which I liked very much. Somehow the ending left me a teensy bit unsatisfied, but overall it's an amazingly fun film that I had a blast seeing. I would definitely recommend it (and watch it again). And it was so cool and a bit insane seeing Holly Black's name on the big screen - I mean, I chatted with her online just a few months ago at readergirlz. How exciting for both her and Tony Diterlizzi.
I had about a week off from sickness this month, but otherwise I've been pretty flattened. I'm so behind with things - classes, a couple of book reviews, emails - which is frustrating. But I try to focus on the ups: Oscar season (I have a deep love for watching the Academy Awards), a fresh stack of books from the library (that's always thrilling), yummy muffins, making lists, planning and looking forward to things yet to come.
Only one more week left until March! Spring will be upon us soon. . . !

I love bocci ball!
Aw, poor blogger girl. Well, I'm looking forward to hearing about it when you've got both your hands again!
Does not sound fun. And capital letters would be hard one handed . . .
Oh, and get well soon. We'll miss your words.
(Yay! Emily of New Moon!)
I love bocci -- here in Scotland everyone "bowls," which is basically lawn bowling, and I can't wait to try it!
Take care of that arm!
love you girl!! I hope your arm feels better!!!
Just about a week till I see you!!!!!!
Aw I hope your arm feels better soon! Take care!
Aw, sorry Miss Erin! I hope your arm and typing fingers are back in working order soon. Love the image of you playing bocci ball with your grandfather, the two of you in matching slings. So cute. I'm going to picture your sling as being sunflower yellow with little flowers embroidered on it, if that's okay.
Oh, Erin! Hope your arm gets better soon!
Awh! Hope your arm gets better! And muchos gracias for those capital letters :-)
I hope ur arm gets better soon! :)
Ouch! (Healing vibes to you.
Ah, I hope you feel better soon. ;)i
Take care of yourself, Miss Erin! I have to admit, I would like to see a picture of you and your matching grandpa. :)
get better soon! I love bocci ball, but I haven't played it in ages! For only using one hand, that was a pretty long post... i am typing this with one hand to sympathize with you, and I'm already tiering!
get better soon! I feel your pain.
;_; Poor Miss Erin. I'm gonna make a video about Out of the Wild and its gonna cheer you up ^_^ ... provided I make it. Before the class its due in tomorrow.
We will wait patiently for you while you heal! Take it easy...
Jules, 7-Imp
Hope you're feeling better soon...
I think you should give dictation. Temporarily, of course. Enslave a family member. And, of course, I hope your arm is soon functioning as it did.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone!! You all are amazing.
Ouch!! One of my characters is about to have a broken arm, and one has, so they feel your pain (and I hope you feel better)
