“Concours Figaro”
Este mes de Junio es tiempo de rifa. Así es, pues ya está aquí el libro “Dehors, Figaro!” y es momento de compartirlo con algún afortunado fan. Así que si lo quieres, tienes hijos, sobrinos, primos pequeños, nietos, si estás estudiando francés básico o simplemente te gustan los libros para niños, entonces sigue las bases que son muy, muy simples:
- Ingresa a la página de Casquilla Illustration en Facebook y dale a “Me Gusta”
- En la imagen de “Concours Figaro” escribe “¡Yo quiero llevarme a Figaro!” (así tal cual con signos de admiración).
- Dale "Like"; a la imagen de “Concours Figaro”.
- ¡Y listo! Ya estás inscrito para la rifa y por lo tanto un posible ganador.
La inscripción para la rifa está abierta a partir de que se publique (o sea, si lo estás leyendo, ya está abierta) hasta el día 30 de Junio de 2012.
El lunes 2 de Julio de 2012 se hará el sorteo.
Esa misma semana (entre el 2 y 8 de Julio de 2012) se dará a conocer el ganador en la misma página de Casquilla Illustration en Facebook.
El ganador o ganadora será notificado por mensaje privado en el que le pediré sus datos para enviar el premio por correo postal.
La rifa está abierta para personas de cualquier parte del mundo a donde se pueda llegar por correo postal.

Sometimes I feel like drawing but end up just staring at a blank page.
My solution?
THE SKETCHBOOK IDEA GENERATOR
This idea started at a workshop I attended about a year ago with Priscilla Burris. She had a everyone randomly write down an animal and an emotion which we then had to draw. I got an "ecstatic pig".
I enjoyed the exercise, and after some thought on it I came up with my Sketchbook Idea Generator.
I started out making some lists in a word program under the categories of: Person, Action/Emotion, Time, and Place.
This is what I came up with. (if you want to try it, feel free to print the jpg)
As you can see, some of the people aren't actually people, and things range from general to really specific. I did that on purpose
After that I printed the list, cut the words into little paper pieces and put them in envelopes in the back pocket of my sketchbook.
Now if I'm stumped on what to draw. I just pull out the envelopes, pick some papers randomly out of them, and sketch away.
I usually pick one from the person category, and anywhere from one to all of the other categories, but you can do any combo that you want.
With some of my 20 min sketches this week I've gotten: Edwardian + Cat + Car
Teenage girl + Dragon + a Snowy place
And
Clown + Sad +1700's
I'll be at it on my
Sketch blog all month long so check back often to see what other ideas are generated.

I am going to try your sketch generator list! fabulous. I won't enter your contest because your my BIFF. Speaking of Fairy tales, Have you ever read "The Green Fairy Book" or the "Blue Fairy Book." They have all sorts of obscure fairy tales. I used to read them all the time. I should try them again. I really love all the cool stuff you are doing with your sketch blog and everything.
When I was little we always listened to a recorded version of an old radio show called "Let's pretend." My favorite fairy tale was "Melilot."

I passed the "generator" on to my teenage daughter. She loves to draw and is pretty darn good at it too. She is always asking me, "Mom, will you tell me something to draw, I'm blank?" This will help immensely, thank you!

Favorite fairy tale...hmm...I guess it would be Peter and the Wolf (not sure that counts as a fairy tale, but I love the music)
