1. Turn Reading and Receiving a Gift into a Real Adventure with Giftventures!

giftventures fairyIf you’re searching for a new gift idea for a child in your life, learn more about Giftventure.

Giftventures are a great way to encourage kids to read because it shows them the value of reading in order to achieve a goal… In this case, finding a hidden gift! Also, it’s a good way for parents to help their children exercise patience, perseverance and problem-solving skills.

Many parents write to the owners of Giftventure telling them how solving a Giftventure gave them the opportunity to spend time with their children through reading and solving the puzzles and activities together… Sometimes big brothers and sisters even got to cooperate and work together with their younger siblings in solving a Giftventure mystery as well!

Angel Kuo of Giftventure says, “We love it when we hear about how our products bring families together while creating a learning experience for the kids!”

2. Do you think it is a bad sign that this is so awkwardly written?

I’m all for contests, but look at the wording on this. It’s for something called Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories Children’s Book Contest.

“The contest is open to unpublished authors ages 18 years and older, to submit their children’s story. The story should be suitable for children ages 4 to 8 years old. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a cash prize from Cheerios and have an opportunity to have their book reviewed for a potential book deal with a publisher. In addition, two First Prize winners will receive cash prizes. All three Prize winners will have their stories featured online at spoonfulsofstories.com.”

Don’t you think the announcement for a writing contest should be better written? Or am I off base?
