Whew, what a week. With the Cybils, the start of teaching, and a crisis at home, I've fallen behind. But...I'm ticking through tasks and finally making progress. While I'm busy answering e-mails from all you lovely Cybils volunteers, here are a few links of interest:
- A wire report on healthy lunch books for kids. I always have trouble packing lunches, so I hope I'll learn something from one of these books.
- Holly Newton has books you'll need to help a child transition back to school (Columbia Tribune).
- Michael Rosen prefers books to the SATs. (Independent)
This week's Project Runway note: Goodbye, Keith! You seem like a nice guy, even if you get a little stressed out. (I'm with you there!) But...I don't really appreciate your shredded aesthetic, so I was not surprised to see you auf'd. I'm now waiting for an all-female finale, starring Korto, Leann, and Terri/Stella.
Not Kenley? Keith can whine all we wants, but his clothes were UGLY. And blaming your model is never cool.
Keith's clothes were UGLY. I even hated the dress he won with. I still felt bad for him, though...
I'm not sure I'm on the Kenley bandwagon yet. I don't really like her 50s-esque style, and she's kind of a mean girl (though that might be editing). Still, I think she's talented and I could totally change my mind.
Leann surprised me this week and she deserved to win. She also impressed me with her drag queen outfit last week.
I wasn't very impressed with the guest judge they had.
I don't think Stella will make it, but yes to Terri, Korto and Leann.
Korto is the only finalist I'm pretty certain of.
I also think Kenley, Jerell and Suede might get there.
Loved the Saturn challenge, it looked lame at the beginning but turned out great.
