Tired fox on the Docklands Light Railway. |
I just got back from an excellent double birthday party - we had a bouncy castle, and a 75m roll of cardboard that we turned into a maze. Also cake.
I figured that what with all the people dressed up as animals collecting for charity, everyone would ignore me if I travelled there in my costume.
I was right.
I put secret cave paintings into the cardboard maze. I loved that maze. We played monster-in-the-maze, and whack-a-mole with inflatable baseball bats, which made me laugh like nothing else in months.

I spent some time today making a whole lot of new achievement badges for
Firehazard.
So now everyone involved can have an online trophy case all of their own...
here is mine. At the bottom you can see little pictures of things I haven't achieved yet...
Otherwise: I've been buying framing materials for an upcoming exhibition and sale of original artwork (more about that soon), I joined Google+ (very exciting) and I read "True Grit" (excellent book).
We had fun at the Hackspace modding nerf guns for Firehazard: we added torches, and a camera...
We took them out the next night and tried out some new zombie games on the heath.
I've also been drawing quick and wobbly achievement badges for players, here's one:

You saved the V.I.P! |
YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!
Our immersive games company Firehazard is auctioning tickets for a charity run of HEIST in South London.
If you win a ticket (or a pair of tickets) your money goes straight to mental health charity
Mind, and you will be meeting up with your fellow burglars in a friendly pub where you will be issued with gear and instructions. And then you'll have to make your way into an old police station, sneak past the guards, disable sensors, pick locks and get the goods out before you are caught and locked up!
We've run this a few times already this year, and it's always been brilliant fun.
So
GO GO GO GET YOUR TICKETS!
That sounds like SO much fun. My kind of party! A few years ago I had a birthday party where we all dressed as animals (I was a kingfisher!) and had a treasure hunt around a park in Falmouth. :-)
Very jealous of your fox ears too!
Fox Rosehill Gardens?
The ears are easily made from felt... I put the hood down at first to look less silly but then it got cold and I had an earache and I thought oh whatever. Then I thought: There is something nice about walking through the rain like this, I might make a set of ears for a raincoat.
I totally recommend getting a huge roll of corrugated wrap for a party. It invents its own games.
