There has been some chatter online (forums, blogs, etc.) about why dominate hasn't been released, why Canterwood is taking longer to come out, etc.
I realize you guys on Team Canterwood don't know, so of course you're going to wonder. I would, too!
First, Canterwood is no longer on a bi-monthly publication schedule. This was a choice made by my publisher which I agreed to. Writing a book every 6 weeks was a killer and with the books coming out every 4 months instead of every 2, the product will be that much better.
Second, Editor K is seriously ill. Like, we have to go out of state to a special hospital ill. She is going through a medical crisis where her life is at risk. Because of this, we have postponed dominate until she is well. Dominate is not something I would ever write on my own--it's a collaboration with my writing partner and the product will not be ready until Kate is feeling better and I am ready to write it with her.
I know some of you are frustrated and wondering what happened with dominate. I understand (I do!), but nothing comes before caring for and being with my bestie in a time of need. I hope that's something you can understand.
We will get dominate to you as soon as we can, but for now, our main focus is what it should be: getting Kate well.

So, I've got some good news and some bad.
First, the bad: I caught a really bad case of the flu and haven't been on the computer much because it makes me nauseous to look at the screen. That meant something happened that does to every writer on a rare occasion--I'm missed my deadline. I'm not well enough to finish my pages for dominate, so the e-novella won't be released on Friday (today) as planned. So sorry, all!
As soon as I feel better, I'll get back to writing and Kate and I will have the e-novella available.
The good: Kate and I decided that we'd give everyone a taste of dominate. Look below for the prologue and we hope you enjoy it! :)
More to come on dominate and thank you all for being so patient!
xo

Wellington Prep . . . where dark secrets and dangerous lies are meant to be found out.
We have an *official* release date to share!
Dominate (Wellington Prep #1) will release on
March 11, 2011!
We'll provide all the links on that day (it's not available for pre-order), but you'll be able to purchase it via Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com for your e-reader devices. They will be priced at $2.99. (Um, can you say "killer deal!")
Dominate will be a perf weekend read, so that's why we chose Friday as "The Day."
As we've mentioned, it's not going to be available in physical stores. It's the first e-novella (a shorter form of an e-novel) installment in the Wellington Prep series. You'll have to download each e-novella to keep the juicy mystery and the horse-centered drama going. Each e-novella will add up to a complete e-book. :) We've already come up with titles for the next two and we can't wait to share them! Plotting and writing these have been a blast for two besties like Kate and me.
So, YAY! We're veeerrry excited and hope you are, too! The blog will be filled with fun posts and giveaways that week--def keep checking back!
It's beyond exciting to be bringing you the first project from Violet & Ruby Productions!

Not, lol. 8+ hours later over 2 days, I'm getting close to finishing taxes. Yay!
That's the biz side of writing--the numbers and figures. I can't do math to save my life. I failed math in 6th and 7th grade. Not even a tutor or my friends could save me. :)
But I'm almost done and then . . . I'm outlining INITIATION and working on DOMINATE with Kate. Soooo exciting to have a new series to work on. Violet & Ruby Productions is going to be putting out the hottest, most fun e-book novellas for tweens and teens.Be sure to follow us on Twitter: @Violet_and_Ruby
I can't wait for you guys to read our first project! Be sure to scroll below and leave a comment (it can be anonymous if you like) or email me with a question for our PINKY SWEAR novella. How cool would it be to see your question in print? We're already getting a lot of great questions about friendships, so keep them coming.
xoxo

Yay! Kate and I are very excited to share the cover and title for the first novella in our upcoming e-book series, WELLINGTON PREP. The title is dominate. :) It will be available soon for download from Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com for a killer price. Get your e-readers ready!
Here's the teaser again:
Wellington Prep: home to the notorious Jasmine King. And if you think Jasmine's a mean girl . . . meet the one who taught her everything she knows.
The release date will be coming soon!
Happy Saturday!
do i have to have a kindle to read the novella? i am so excited for the first one to come online
This is really cool! I don't have a Nook or Kindle, though. Is there any other way I could read it? Well, eventually I'll find a way to read it (I think there's a free Nook app thing for PCs). Congrats!
Hey, I'm super phyed to read it, but I don't have a nook or kindle. Some people on horsemystic say you can pay for it online and then just print it out. Is this true? I hope so!

Cool, i cant wait to read one of those. I dont get why people are so excited about Nooks and kindles and eReaders, i personally HATE that kind of thing. I like having an actual physical book in my hand to read. Know that we shouldnt be reading to our kids on an electronic device, no we should be reading to them from a real paperback book, somethng that they can keep and cherish forver. Electronics break and cost a lot but books, if cared correctly, can last a long time.
When will it come out and will it be on your website???
