The animated series Horrid Henry, based on the middle-grade Horrid Henry books written by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross, are coming out on DVD in the UK, with new episodes starting in the summer of 2009, and the second season airing on ITV1 and CITV in the spring of 2009. In addition, Horrid Henry will be produced as a live stage show in the UK, premiering this fall, and produced by Watershed Productions and Sheffield Theatres.
I always find the transformation from book to video or stage interesting, and hope that it brings more readers to the books.
What about you? Do you like it or dislike it? Or not care about it at all?
Angelina Ballerina, a picture book that has been loved by children for more than 20 years, is being drawn from as Hit Entertainment and WNET produce Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps, a new CGI series that introduces Angelina Ballerina as she starts at a new school for the performing arts. The series will debut on PBS Kids in the fall of 2009.

A clip from the Robo-1 Grand (robot fighting) Championship in Tokyo. I’m trying desperately to find a way to link this video to illustration, but can’t do it. We’re going to put it under our ‘toys’ category and look the other way, though, okay?
I find myself rooting for the ‘balloon-head’ and samurai penguin robots!

Here’s a link to illustration (plug.) Most of the robot portraits I’ve done have been for fighting robot engineers, most notably the Robot-Dreams group for the Robo-One competition.
Shameless, but I couldn’t help it. It doesn’t come up often.

Xadrian, I’m not seeing any link in your post. I enjoy robot portraits, and would like to see what you plugged!
Most times the book is better. Just my $0.02
Madison, I agree with you. I think most times the book is better!
I still hope that the movie, tv show, or play will get people to check out the book it’s based on.
It’s always a mix of anticipation and fear. Please, let them get it right!
I hear you, Ms S. I feel the same way when it’s a book I love! Like Inkheart….
