Rubber snake aerobics,
rubber snake wars,
rubber snakes dangling from the windows.
Dirty hands,
tired faces,
"all y'all are bugging me."
Test folders,
little homework,
Fun Day coming Friday.
"Mom says
we can't use the snakes as slingshots."
Is school about to end?

Things I've learned the last few weeks while driving carpool:
- When you have a heart attack, your lungs clog up. Your heart is located in your neck.
- If you let your grass grow too high, the governor will come to arrest you.
- Birthstones are mined at Mount Rushmore, which is in Washington, DC.

My four in the van were discussing various animal traits. This one was my favorite:
"Did you know snakes can smell your sense of humor?"

I'm sitting in a room full, I mean - FULL - of bloggers - women who are writers and who either get paid (0r not) for what they, I mean WE do all day!
We're just SECONDS away from the major announcement this year. They're just making us wait a few minutes before letting us know where BlogHer 2010 will take place and everyone here is bracing themselves and praying that it'll be in their hometown.
At my table are a few women from the Denver - based carpool are hoping that it'll be there and I have to admit that it would be a beautiful place for a conference.
OMG! They're making us WAIT....I swear. This is crazy. I'm getting text messages from my Blog Her Carpoolers ' roommate from somewhere in this room, but where is she? Is she broadcasting LIVE as well?
THERE SHE IS!!
I can see her. She's at the next table and it looks like her coffee mug ...

Woo-hoo!
I so know the feeling. I just had my last 14 hour day yesterday between work and volunteering at an event at school right after work. I'm so glad not to have days like that till Fall, though till school ends June 18th, it'll be busy.
Yup, sounds about right:) And there'll probably be more carpooling to be had when school's done.
With you, Caroline... I am SO ready for summer!! And much as carpool exhausts me, I LOVE the conversation. :)
Snakes in the car.
Eek.
Hope you have a great snake-free weekend. :)
Perfect!
Karen, the snakes were part of a birthday cake (one of my sons asked for a snake cave the other an ant hill!). Those snakes have taken up residence in the van.
No snake-free weekend for me!
Not to be confused with "Snakes on a Plane."
Sweet poem!
I live in a snake-free zone. I'm sort of like Indiana Jones in that snakes freak me out. And they don't even have legs!!
I love "all y'all are bugging me." That about sums up my life right now too. :) :)
Ha ha ha! Perfect! I am totally with you! :-)
Have a great weekend!
I love eavesdropping on the conversations that take place in the back of my car :)
"All y'all" is one of my favorite local expressions, along with "I've been knowing him/that" for "I know him/that" and "She fussed me" for "she yelled at me."
We still have another 4 weeks of school - I'm working to finish up my first draft.
Is May B. a verse novel?
Love it. I just can't decide if I'm ready to have these conversations all day every day for three months. 20 minutes in carpool is slightly more manageable. Ha!
This was hilarious, Caroline. I need to get in a carpool so we can have some more interesting car conversation. Mine is mostly. "He's pinching me, Mom!" and "I need to go potty." Maybe it will get better when they get a little bigger.
Super fun! Kids crack me up. :)
