Now I wanna go to Newfoundland…
Oh, by the way, what IS the correct pronounciation?
Jazz: Yeah, I keep emphasizing that, don’t I? ; ) But it’s apparently a big deal. I mean, if a STRANGER mentioned it… And it was one of the first things Paul told me about when we met. And on this trip, it became a frequent topic of conversation, as I would say it wrong when I happened to read it.
Anyway, Newfoundland is pronounced like “new-fin-land”, with no real emphasis on any syllable, though maybe slightly on the last one. When I misspronounce it, I’ll say, “new-FOUND-land”, like it looks. My FIL always says to say, “un-der-stand…new-fin-land”. So there we all go!
what a great trip! i like how you integrate text and drawings in your pages, they feel like an illustrated book. did you color these later in photoshop?
gabi: Thank you! On this trip in particular, the text was integrated, so it was more journal-like. As for color, if I don’t do it in the field, I colorize it once I return, though I use Painter X vs. PS or AI. I will take color notes on many of my sketches to help jog my memory. Thanks again for commenting!
