How to use this Page
You are viewing the most recent posts tagged with the words: byc in the JacketFlap blog reader. What is a tag? Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. Tags can both help you find posts on JacketFlap.com as well as provide an easy way for you to "remember" and classify posts for later recall. Try adding a tag yourself by clicking "Add a tag" below a post's header. Scroll down through the list of Recent Posts in the left column and click on a post title that sounds interesting. You can view all posts from a specific blog by clicking the Blog name in the right column, or you can click a 'More Posts from this Blog' link in any individual post.
While working on client work, I did a few quick and easy sketches of things/people around me on my computer (using my Wacom tablet and Painter X). This was one of them. Oh, huh. I see a typo in the copy above. Everybody was eating “lunch”, not “luch”. Sheesh.
Hi Paula,
I’ve been following your blog for about three years now, and really enjoy it!! I check every couple of days to see if you’ve made any updates when I get to work in the morning, and I have to say… its a great start to my day when you have!! I especially love your whimsical animal sketches… I’ve shown a few people at work your blog, and think I have one or two others hooked!
I’m originally from Texas like you, but have recently put down roots in Australia, where my husband is from. I get very excited when you blog from ‘home’… even though it makes me a tiny bit homesick sometimes!!
You’re so very talented (I’m jealous!), and thank you so much for the creativity and effort you’ve put into this blog. I know I’m just a somebody on the other side of the world, but know that you’ve brought a smile to at least one face in Australia!

This is so different looking from your sketchbook stuff.
Well duh, Jazz, computer….
This is shaping up to be one of my stupid days.
Paula, is there a reason why you prefer painter over photoshop? Is it certain features or just a preference?
Thanks!
Tanya
Jessica: I’m so glad you made yourself known! Thanks for leaving a comment! I thought only Jazz, Debbie A. and my hubby were reading my blog with faithfulness (and I greatly appreciate you guys, as you know!). Well, I wish I could post some sketches of Texas for you, but as you know, I’m presently up north. My goodness you sure took up roots a long way from Texas! Well, I’m pleased to hear that my blog has helped you feel a little less homesick. So thanks again for saying hey and letting me know you’re there!
Jazz: Oh now…! It looks different too because I approached it very simply. It’s not just that this was done on computer. You were very right to make that observation!
Tanya: I can’t really say I prefer Painter to PS as I never got into using PS for my work. I used Painter from day one of my digital experience (a-way back when it first came out), so I can’t honestly compare the two.
