1. Running From?


















This has turned out to be a week for working on sketches. The one above and yesterday's are for new samples. I usually don't do this much shading for a sketch, but thought it would be fun to try something different.

I'm also working on a dummy for a new story. The drawings are a bit more complicated than I expected, and so are taking longer. It's a little bit frustrating-- I feel like time is slipping past! I've been writing and revising, and once I finish the pictures it will lead to even more revising. I'm approaching this project with baby steps. Every day. It will get done.

2. Book Dummies and Perspective


This is an ancient piece of art I did back in art school. It has absolutely nothing to do with what I wanted to tell you about. I just had to get your attention with something.

So a lot of us make book dummies. I found this cool thing about how to make a hardback book for those of you who like to really do it up right. This guy makes it look easy, and like a good idea. Very simple directions to follow.

AND. People ask about how to do perspective all the time. Here's a really good little tutorial. Again, easy to understand, and you can actually come away being able to do it.

In fact this whole site is cool.
