Here are the promised Bomb Shelter pics. They are only TEASER pics. The ACTUAL Bomb Shelter picture will come later. Consider it a trailer of sorts, a preview, the inside flap.

So here it is, The Real McCoy. The Bomb Shelter, otherwise known as my future Man Cave/Writing Lair (one of these days). It was built in 1961 around the time of nuclear threat from the Russians via Cuba (Bay of Pigs). I need to clean out the old desk and paint over the Spanish wall ballad, but other than that it's in pretty good shape... if you love black widows and other eight-legged freaks.

Hatch (submarine-like entry/exit) in the backyard. This is a bird's eye view of the hatch. Anyone watch Lost? I don't, but people have told me it reminds them of the show. Alternative entrance is in the garage floor, literally the garage floor. That's the one I use.

Please send directions to your new house. Thank you.
Is there a bathroom?
Yes, there is a bathroom. Actually it's more of a pit or hole in the ground. Better yet, a sump.
Get some carpet in there.
That is a totally inspiring writing space...OMGoodness I want a bomb shelter too!!! Very cool!
Way to build false expectations "Blast From the Past". It's still cool though.
...that is a beautiful thing! Pounding the keyboard in an actual bomb shelter? A hole to pee in? Resembling the innards of an ancient silo, having toppled years earlier? Dude, it's a story in and of itself!
I bet you can write some creepy stories in there!
Man up and get those spiders! (I understand though. My husband hates spiders. When I hear "Kelly!" I come and get a spider for him. When my daughter was two, he started her on getting the spiders too!)
Enjoy your new space!
I need to clarify. When I hear "Kelly!" after a girlish scream is when I know there's a spider. If I just hear "Kelly!" I sometimes ignore it;)
I'd like to invite Neil Gaiman over to christen the bomb shelter. I wish Edgar Allen Poe were alive.
Awesome! I of course love black widows.
Very cool. Someone put a ton of effort into that.
