I’m participating in NaNoWriMo this month. It’s a mad-sprint to write 50,000 words of a novel in a month, and we just reached the half-way mark. This means we’re wading through the murky middle of our novels when it feels like nothing is happening and it’s hard to keep our momentum.
If you’re like me and you need a little internet inspiration, I’m happy to provide these pep-talks of writing wisdom:

I entered NaNoWriMo a couple (I think!) of years back. I never did quite understand the point of it all and could not find anyone to explain it to me. Could you shed some light, please?

Mick – What don’t you understand? The idea is to write the first draft of a novel in a month. It’s a great way to get your ideas on the page without over analyzing it.

I love all of these! I didn’t get to participate in NaNoWriMo this year but I hope to next year.
Then I still don’t understand. It seems it is all down to me, exactly as if NaNoWriMo was not there. I don’t see what NaNoWriMo brings to the party.
