3. Free Writing Workshop: Create and Sell an Informational Product

I'm presenting another free workshop for Writers on the Move. We skipped an October workshop because of the Muse Online Writers Conference, but we're back now.

Here are the writing workshop details:

Title: Create and Sell an Informational Product
Presented by: Karen Cioffi
Date: November 18, 2011
Time: 7PM, EST (U.S. Time)
Workshop Format: Live Online Chat
Handout: Yes
Fee: Free

Description:

Surely, you’ve all hear by now about informational products. If not, it’s all about creating a product that provides needed or wanted information to others . . . information others will be willing to pay for.

And, it’s not difficult at all.

So, what might be an example of an informational product?

Simple, anything that, again, will provide people with information / knowledge they need or want. Information that will solve a person’s problem or will help them get where they want to be. It might be a report, an e-book, a workshop, you get the idea.

To help you get in the informational product game, Writers on the Move is hosting a writing workshop presented by Karen Cioffi that will give you the steps you need to get where you want to be: creating and selling informational products.

To register for “Create and Sell an Informational Product” email Karen Cioffi at: karencioffi [at] ymail.

The workshop is free, but all registrants will be added to the Writers on the Move and the presenter’s mailing list.

Details to the LIVE CHAT will be provided upon registration.

We'll be offering (at the discretion of the presenter) an After Workshop Package of this workshop for those who didn't register and would like to purchase it. It'll include the live chat transcript, the workshop handout, and possibly a podcast. Be sure to Get Yours when it's available!

4. Self-Publishing With CreateSpace Workshop

Writers on the Move is offering a FREE September workshop on self-publishing with CreateSpace. With more and more authors taking their writing careers into their own hands, you won't want to miss out on this information.

Check below for details and be sure to register early.

Workshop Title: Self-Publishing With CreateSpace
Presenters: Elysabeth Eldering and Nancy Famolari
Date: September 19, 2011
Time: 4 – 5 PM, EST (U.S.)
Format: Live Online Chat

Workshop Description:

Today, more and more authors are taking their writing careers into their own hands. Self-publishing through services like Amazon’s CreateSpace is a viable option, but how do you go about it and what are the potential costs?

Is Self-Publishing using CreateSpace really free?

Nancy Famolari and Elysabeth Eldering will take you through the process of creating and printing a book through CreateSpace, including what the costs are to an indie author.

Nancy will discuss the points of doing all the work from creating a cover, doing a layout, and submitting files to print.

Elysabeth will discuss the process of hiring someone to do the cover, layout and converting files to make them print ready.

We’ll also go over when to order an actual proof copy and when it can be bypassed, as well and utilizing the Proadvantage option for distribution.

And, don't forget that you can take your print ready documents and submit to Kindle and Nook. In addition, there will be a brief discussion on listing books on www.kindlegraph.com for e-signatures and personalized messages to buyers. This is not just for e-books.

There will also be a bonus PDF workshop handout included and a workshop transcript available upon request.

Register today and learn how you can publish through CreateSpace - email Elysabeth at [email protected]

Registered attendees will receive instructions for attending. While the Writers on the Move Workshops are FREE, your email address will be added to the presenter’s mailing list.

Hope to see you there!

6. Podcasting for Writers Workshop

As mentioned in the Monday post, Writers on the Move is now offering FREE (most of them) workshops. Our merry band of authors/writers are kicking off the first one on May 16th at 7pm EST. It will be an hour long chat at the Writers on the Move's blogsite (on the workshop page):

http://vbt-writersonthemove.blogspot.com

Maggie Ball will present a free workshop on Podcasting for Writers; she has also prepared a detailed PDF for the class.

Registration is required, so please email Maggie at [email protected] and put "Podcast Workshop" in the subject line.

You will receive the PDF after registering, so you will be able to work on creating a podcast and then ask any questions you may have with Maggie during the workshop.

A bit about the workshop:

The simplest definition of a podcast is just a recorded radio show and Maggie will provide the information you need to get your podcast up and running. She’ll define what a podcast is and the many different ways you can either do a single podcast, or start your own “radio show” or even syndication with recorded podcasts.

This will be a very informative workshop for writers who want, rather need to bring their books and/or services to a larger audience. If you’re blogging now, the next step is to create podcasts and Maggie Ball can show you how.

Show up a bit before to sign into EveryWhereChat and to see if there is any information already in place.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The June Workshop will be presented by Karen Cioffi and it'll be about creating and selling e-books. We'll have the details available by the end of May or beginning of June.

7. Writers on the Move Workshop

Exciting News:

In our efforts to continually provide fresh and helpful information to our readers and visitors, and since our group has so many experienced and knowledgeable writers and authors, we've added a new and very exciting feature to our group, the Writers on the Move Workshop.

The workshops will focus on writing and marketing, and depending on the presenter and topic, the workshops will range from 30 minutes to ONE hour to ONE day to ONE week long. We are hoping to keep them free, but for the week long, and possibly even the day long workshops, there may be a small fee – we’ll have to see how it all pans out.

The first Writers on the Move Workshop will be in a LIVE hour long chat format, scheduled for May 16 at 7pm EST. Maggie Ball will talk about Podcasting for Writers.

If you’d like to attend this free 1 hour workshop, you will need to register. Please send an email to Maggie at: [email protected]

Show up a bit before to sign into EveryWhereChat and to see if there is any information already in place.
