It is that time - time to update what is waiting to be read. So here is What's On My Nightstand:
I love these monthly posts that 5 Minutes for Books does - What's on Your Nightstand? - is a time to list what we "have on our nightstand" - or, in other words, our current or upcoming reading!! So here is my list:
I always think this is fun - so here's what's on my NEW nightstand - yes, we redid our bedroom and we got rid of our tables and upgraded to classy square nightstands - just had to throw that in!!
Real Life and Liars by Kristina Riggle - this is an ARC that I am reading from Harper Collins - while it's not my normal fare - I am enjoying it. I will review it here soon, but suffice it to say - it's REAL - it's what families are REALLY like.
I'll Cross the River by C. Hope Flinchbaugh - this is next on my To Be Read List - looks good - I'll fill you in when I get done!
Meet the Bible by Philip Yancey and Brenda Quinn - this is what I use for daily readings - I wanted something "meaty" that included daily scripture readings and this fit the bill - I love it!
The Love Dare by Stephen Kendrick - I know, EVERYONE has this on their nightstand - but I REALLY do want to start it - I think my husband hopes I do soon!!
Lastly - my current Beth Moore study - Stepping Up - POWERFUL - that is all I can say - it is JUST what I needed.
So, what's on your Nightstand!?!?!
Well what a fun idea - so I am playing along!! If you want to participate just go HERE.
Not so exciting maybe but here's what's on my nightstand:
Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath - but it will be off tomorrow as I have a Wimba Room discussion on this one and then I am done!! Good, informative read though.
The Reformation Study Bible - I LOVE my English Standard Version and this was the only study Bible I could find in that version!
How to be a Great Wife...even though you Homeschool by Todd Wilson - what can I say - this guy makes me laugh and encourages me in my homeschool venture!!!
Invitation to Solitude and Silence by Ruth Haley Barton - I haven't started this one yet - but I NEED IT!!!!
Ordinary Mom, Extraordinary God by Mary E. DeMuth - a great one to read a chapter a day before bed - or as soon as you get up - GREAT reminders.
Mothers of Famous Men by Deborah Hamby - excellent encouragement for moms!
For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn - have read it twice - VERY good!
Going on my nightstand tonight - Madapple by Christina Meldrum - I've read a lot about this one on blogs and now it's my turn!!
Oh yes, and my Shea it isn't So Foot Cream!!!! Every girl needs her foot cream before bed!
The laborious book looks interesting. It's hard for nonfiction to urge me to keep going though. I know exactly what you mean.
Good luck!

You must finish The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down because I need to know if it is any good! I've only heard that it is good; I don't know much about it, though. So finish it and then review it so I'll know. :)
Red Letters sounds interesting. I've heard of the concept of "red letter" believers, but I've been pretty skeptical about the idea--after all, the black letters are no less divinely inspired and the word of God than the red. Still, I think it's interesting to see how other believers put Jesus' words into practice.
I have read a good review of Choosing to See. Her story is certainly a touching one!
