I took another hike "across the bayou," visiting the same nature trail I visited last Christmas.
Here's what I saw:

The parades are over,
but if you look closely,
you'll find beads all over town
dangling from the strangest places.

Wow, an armadillo! I've never seen one before. And in Louisiana too, and I thought they were only out west. Learn something new every day.
Ah, we used to see armidillos all the time when we lived in Missouri. I love the bayou pics. And I think think have sons about the same age!

I think I love the bayou. I only see raccoons and possums in my forest!! Sometimes a coyote or a deer... but nothing nearly as cool as armadillos or feral children. :D
