This novel marks the first giant step in a momentous fantasy journey orchestrated by Cinda Williams Chima, the author of the popular Warrior Heir series. Its two chief protagonists are ex-thief Han Alister, an impoverished commoner, and Raisa ana'Marianna, the headstrong Princess Heir of the Fells. The Demon King brings them together, creating part of a volatile mix of action, magic, and danger. Empathetic characters; wizardly attacks.

Review by Jess
THE DEMON KING, by Cinda Williams Chima is an epic fantasy adventure that will sweep you off your feet in seconds. The action is ever present and the plot strong the entire time. This is a book you will sit down and read and not put it down until your finished.

Having already read Chima's Heir series I was incredibly excited to read a new series by her. I was not disappointed. The writing is a masterpiece! Chima was able to switch back and forth between the two main characters P.O.V. so flawlessly, I usually find it somewhat confusing when authors switch, but everything fits together so seamlessly.

Raisa is one of my favorite kind of characters. She is head strong and knows what she does and does not want, and what she has to do in order to be a good leader. Even as some things begin to crumble around her she figures out what she must do. I love strong lead characters! Raisa definitely made it on to my list of favorite characters.

This book really kept my interest the entire time and left me wanting more and more. This book definitely has made my top ten list, and I can not wait for the rest of the series!
