1. Vacation flying...

This was my angry response to the flight crew on a vaction about 4 years ago. We had been on the tarmack for about an hour and we were told that we'd have to be there for at least another hour. I had my ipod headphones on and relaxed, even though it was about 85 degrees in the cabin. The stewardess kept telling me to turn it off but I refused until we were ready to roll. I was being a prick about it but so were they. Anyway, once we got into the air I did this sketch of the cabin stewards!

7. SFG: Summer Vacation

In 1999, a group of friends from the southern California goth community gathered at Disneyland on the third Sunday in August, for an unofficial Disney event called "Bats Day in the Fun Park". The next year, more people got wind of the gathering. Year after year, the attendees grew, until 2006, when Bats Day 8 drew approximately 3000! For the past three years, my family and I have been part of this annual event at Disneyland, travelling all the way from Philadelphia. I still can't decide which is cooler.... Seeing all the goths at Disneyland or seeing all of the "regular" guests seeing all the goths at Disneyland. Bats Day in the Fun Park 2007 is August 17-19. Hope to see you there!

9. SFG: Summer Vacation

This week was the last day of high school classes. It's always a little weird as a teacher. It's like that movie Groundhog day. Sometimes I wish I could just graduate like my students. More importantly, I now have 2 months off to just be an artist and travel. Awesome!

11. Family Road Trip!

MMMMmmmmm,... those summer days when you go on a trip with the family. There were 5 of us kids when I was little and my folks took us to Niagra Falls (many, many times.), Washington DC, Canada and Ohio. Not much else.
Not sure why I've only got one kid in the car though.

12. SFG: Summer Vacation

Hopefully things will calm down here soon and I'll be able to post some new material, but in the meantime, here's a "classic" from my portfolio:

15. Summer Vacation Roadtrip!

Hi folks! Glen Mullaly here again, this time celebrating the summer vacation roadtrip with this text-free, slightly cropped alternate version of the cover for the July issue of Kayak, a kid's history mag that I do the covers for.
I ended up spending waaaay more time on this than the small budget called for and produced three versions - the aged 2-colour version you see above, a clean, un-aged 2-colour and eventually a full colour at the request of the client. The A.D. didn't know I was doing a 2-colour so I totally understood his concerns. This aged version didn't really suit the tone of the feature anyway... but as a stand-alone I really dig it, so I'm foisting it on you. Grab a road map and pile on board!
