I guess it's okay to use a blog to talk about yourself, to even brag - right? So here I go again.
I found out for sure (I think) that I received the SCBWI '06 second place Magazine Merit Award for Illustration for a piece I did for Ranger Rick (just squeaking in the deadline with the December issue), and a Merit Honor for a piece in the February '06 issue of Highlights For Children. This is the third year in a row that I've placed/won the magazine merit award.

Blogs are most certainly a place for sharing good news. If sharing good news is considered "bragging" then go ahdead, brag! There's nothing wrong with that! I can't wait for the day that I have good news to "brag" about on my blog some day! :0)

I thought about sending a thank-you e-mail, but decided that what I wanted to do was tell everyone how beautiful it is. Some of the pieces made me laugh. But I think my favorite is the lovely, elegant eloquent hippo.
