Oscar Cahén (1916-1956) was an amazingly versatile illustrator who revolutionized periodical illustration in Canada in the 1940s and 1950s. His illustrative work has not been seen since his lifetime — until now.

Opening Saturday Oct 1 (reception at 7:00pm), Oscar Cahén: Canada’s Groundbreaking Illustrator brings 40 original works to Illustration House in New York for the month of October. There is also a book; contact the gallery to order.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen them use an illustrated cover in my 41 years. (By the way, this is me dropping a gigantic hint to whomever is the Art Director there right now.)
