Susanne Gervay's I AM JACK with Tim McGarry, Monkey Baa Theatre, with Courgae to Care, Darling Quarter Theatre

Susanne Gervay’s I AM JACK with Tim McGarry, Monkey Baa Theatre, Seymour Centre

Love, love, love Courage to Care.

They embrace ‘I AM JACK’ and the evening at the Darling Quarter Lend Lease theatre with I AM JACK was a fantastic night.

Tim McGarry was brilliant as usual performing JACK.

The post author and actor talk was compered by author Moya Simons. It was emotional as Moya and I started our writing careers together.

The brain child of Andrew Havas, Courage to Care brings the message of NO to bullying, social inclusion, harmony and justice to all people irrespective of colour, race, religion.

Courage to Care engages Holocaust survivors with children, and tours to schools across NSW, Victoria and will be reaching 100′s of school in Queensland in a partnership with the Catholic schools this year.

3. Anne Frank and Holocaust Memorial Florida.

Then in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart – by Anne Frank

Anne Frank’s words are etched in the stone at the beginning of the Holocaust memorial in Florida.

The sculptural memorial is a moving  and powerful indictment of  man’s capacity for evil.

Anne Frank’s words are moving and powerful, inspiring rebirth of the good in man.

Anne Frank’s diary has inspired children’s authors to write books that continue the importance of telling the stories:-

Moya Simons’ ‘Let Me Whisper You My Story’

Morris Glietzman ‘Then, Once, and Now

John Boyne’s ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’

John Boyne is Irish, but he wrote from the universal experience of a child, family, community. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas crosses all ages – in a parable that shakes your values and who we are.

4. Moving Launch of Moya Simons’ Let Me Whisper You My Story’ at Waverly Council Library Bondi

Let Me Whisper You My Story By Moya SimonsMoya wrote ‘Let Me Whisper You My Story’ in commemoration of Anna Parnas who died in the Holocaust; Anne’s daughter Eve (Moya’s dear friend), a child survivor; and to advocate for those who suffer injustice and racism.

It was a deeply moving launch with Adrew Havas founder of Courage to Care, part of the worldwide benevolent society called B’nai B’rith, advocating for justice.

Courage to Care goes into schools with facilitators like Moya and Holocaust survivors to talk about a better world.

There were a lots of authors and friends there to celebrate.
