I've almost hit my stride with
Fred. Having left the book at 90 words last Wednesday, I'm now at a whopping 4,578... Erm.
Maybe we should fast forward to next Wednesday.
Lily's favourite line of the week:
"But even if I wasn't, you'd still be as hairy as an afghan hound wearing a wig."Resemblance to original script: 40%
Now we'll interrupt our normal schedule to encourage you to go wish
Mercedes M Yardley and
Marshall Payne hearty congratulations. They've both snagged agents because they're both rather wonderful.
Enjoy the picture :D
Jamie Lackey has announced the TOC for the forthcoming anthology, Triangulation: End of the Rainbow. (Thanks to Marshall Payne for the info). I'm super excited about this one, not least because Aaron Polson's previously published, The World in Rubber, Soft and Malleable, is in it. One of my favourite stories of 2009.
The Rainbow Vendor by David Sklar
Tourist Trap by Mark Onspaugh
Making Friends by Kylie Bullivant
A Test of Spirit by Brenta Blevins

The wonderful Marshall Payne has posted an interview with a rather strange person who claims to be a writer over at his most excellent journal.
Remember the world is a strange place and the people who inhabit it even stranger.
Doesn't my blog look pretty? (This comment is wasted on my livejournal friends as it refers to my blogger blog).
I spent most of the weekend, when I should have been writing, tidying it up. I've taken away all the magazine/anthology covers from my Bibliography page as I thought it looked too cluttered. And don't you just heart the hearts? While fiddling with my blog page (trying to add themes, then removing themes as I love my green background), I managed to delete my entire 'Blogs I Stalk' list. I think I've remembered everyone, but if you notice you're missing, or if you just want to be added for the hell of it, then give me a nudge and I'll add you to the list. Apologies to anyone I've forgotten - I had snow brain.
If you have a few spare minutes, spend your procrastinating time wisely and head over to Fear and Trembling to read Facing Myself by Marshall Payne. It's an outstanding short sci-fi/horror story. I'd say more, but I don't want to give anything away.
That cat IS a filthy tease ; )
Awww...the cat is so cute and yet so diabolical.
Natalie, all cats are.
Andrea, I can hear its cackle from here.
Adorable cat alert! Gaaahhhh. They get me every time, even after all these years. And being bossed around by one every day of my life.
Hey, Fred's short story sized now! Nice!
Katey, he is indeed.
