A massive crude-oil slick from an exploded rig in the Gulf of Mexico inched closer to the mouth of the Mississippi river late Thursday as the government marshalled resources to protect fragile wetlands.
Really and truly tragic. Let's hope today's efforts to try a new approach at stopping this leak are successful.

I am in New Orleans at the moment for a writing conference. I cannot believe that no one knows what to do to stop the oil leak. This is sooooo sad! The oil company should be hung out on a rack!
