They say that behind ever Madman is Lara Allred. Fine, no one has ever said that but I still think it’s true.Laura has left her mark on countless books such as Fables, The Spirit, X-Force, Wolverine and The X-Men and award winning run on iZombie.

Laura is hands down one of the greatest colorist to ever grace comics. Laura, thank you for being so awesome and a inspiration to everyone around you.
It would be helpful it you revise the article to mention she’s a colorist. A damn good one. ;)
Thanks for the suggestion.
Ah, darn. Nothing against you, Mr. Barajas, but I guess I was hoping for a more in-depth article on how much she’s grown as a colorist over the years. Both her and her husband have shown tremendous growth over the years, but Mrs. Allred went from just using standard rainbow colors willy-nilly to using the most appropriate colors in contrast with one another to really give her pictures depth and make them pop out. Her dedication to her craft is I credible.
Chris, I agree with you. This isn’t my best post and Laura deserves a much better write up.
Laura Allred (and Mike) are such nice people.
Henry, don’t worry about it! I think this was the first post I read yesterday. For whatever reason, I thought everyone was going super in-depth with thought pieces. I know next to nothing about color theory, so it’s not like I could do better. I just obsessively read everything the Allreds do and I’ve noticed her growth.
Laura Allred is incredible!! It is so hard to find any interviews with her (there are a few, but) especially focused on craft. Her work has grown- it is so painterly and lush. Colorists are vital and receive so little love in our world!
