Thanks to agent Holly McGhee of Pippin Properties, Kate DeCamillo has agreed to join us at our Annual Conference on Sunday June 10th. She will give the ending talk. Afterward sanswers questions and do a book signing. Her books will be on sale all weekend, so people do not have to take time to purchase their books before the signing. This will be the first time I get to hear Kate, but I have heard she is a great speaker, a lovely person, and we all know she is a great award-winning author. We should all leave the weekend totally inspired to go home and make it happen.
This year is shaping up. We’ll have Dan Yaccarino start off Saturday with a enthusiastic pep talk to get everyone’s blood pumping.
Editor Rebecca Frazer will be joining us, too. I’ll have more info later on that, but it is really exciting.

That is great news!!! WOW!!!!!
I was fortunate enough to hear Kate speak a couple of years ago in Princeton. At that time, it was only her second public talk in the U.S. I braved terrific thunderstorms, crazy wind blowing my car across the highway, and dodging downed trees and power lines to get there, but trust me, it was worth every bit of effort and more.
It wasn’t just her talk, which was straight from her heart and amazing, inspirational and uplifting, funny, tender and educational ~ it was the energy that vibrates from her, and the way she makes you understand “we are ALL in this together.” It was the way her eyes lit up when a child asked a great question, and her answers which left me feeling like I had touched a rainbow.
She’s magic. Don’t miss it.
I was planning to come anyway, but Kate DiCamillo? You have outdone yourself, Kathy! Cannot wait, cannot wait, cannot wait!!
