2. Blog highlight: Ghostwriter

The tagline of Ghostwriting: The Hidden Writer is “How To Become A Ghost Writer And Quit Your Day Job.” The blog author, Amanda Evans, is a fulltime ghostwriter, and says that the aim of her blog is to provide advice to those who want to know how to become a ghostwriter.

In addition to posting about her experience as a ghostwriter, Amanda also regularly posts info about European freelance jobs.

4. Four Things You Should Never Say To A Writer

To see a close-up of the text, please go to this Inkygirl Gifts For Writers page and click on the back of the shirt. The front of the t-shirt reads “I write.” Lots of t-shirt styles and colours to choose from. :-)

I’ve also added an Ask Me About My Book t-shirt. Again, a wide range of styles and colours, plus you can customize the back of the t-shirt with your own text/image.

5. The Market List: genre writing market info…but how old?

The tagline for The Market List is “The Online Resource For Genre Fiction Writers.” In addition to browing sf/f/h guidelines by rate, the site also has a number of useful articles and other resources. A quibble: none of the guidelines appear to have any indication about when they were last updated. In fact, the info on the main page seems to indicate that the listings haven’t been updated since 2004, but perhaps it’s just the main page info that hasn’t been updated (?).

8. Online Writing Jobs

Continuing my research of free freelance writing job information online: Online Writing Jobs. Each listing is dated, with the source given, and you can click through to the source listing for more information. On a quick browse, it looks as if most of the listings are from Craigslist. The main page has a list of writing job categories, which is handy.

9. Selling your reprints in e-book stores

If you’ve published at least ten stories or novels by established print publishers or magazines and still own electronic rights to your work, Fictionwise will sell your work in their store. Be warned that they ask for exclusive rights to sell your work during your author contract (i.e. you can’t sell it anywhere else). More info here. If I find info about other e-book retailer guidelines, I’ll post them in Inkygirl.
