We all know when you put that quarter into the gumball machine you are secretly wishing for your favorite color/flavor. I always want the pink one...can't really explain it I think it just tastes more like bubblegum. Silly, I know.
When you see that white one coming you just shake your head and think, "man! I hate the white ones". However, that was your last quarter and you end up chewing it anyway. So don't you love the feeling when you see your favorite color come out of the machine into your eagerly waiting hand? Now that's happiness to me!
Katherine Paterson will be speaking locally on February 24, 2008 at 3 pm as part of the COOL BRAINS! Inprint Readings for Young People series.
Admission is free!
