Illustration Friday: Blanket
This is not a new piece but I have missed taking part and this illustration fits the topic so well. This was the first spread that I painted for my first picture book called Claire and the Unicorn. I was so nervous, so worried about not doing well enough, that I almost didn't enjoy painting this. I had a hard time working on it and it went through a lot of changes. Claire seems happy though and looks blissfully unaware of the effort it took to tuck her under that cozy blanket :)

I find that the paintings that I struggle with the most end up being my favourites, so it is always worth it.
