5pm every Friday on Twitter
How do you play?
We will post on twitter a book title and author with all the letters missing.
eg

Guess a letter by tweeting at us using the #blanketybooks hashtag
eg
“ @boomerangbooks I guess the letter A #blanketybooks ”
We will slowly reveal the book title and author as more letters are guessed (you can guess as many times as you like but only one letter per tweet)
eg

The winners of the 2009 Prism contest will be announced next month at the RWA National Conference. To celebrate Sleepless being a Young Adult nominee I'm giving away the three finalist books. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment recommending a great recent read. (Please tell me why you loved it, but no spoilers.) You'll help me build my summer TBR and hopefully everyone else will add to their pile too! You get one entry for your comment (even if you recommend multiple books). If you buzz my contest by placing a link somewhere and let me know, I'll give you a second entry. All entries must be received by Midnight (MST) on July 1st. One winner will be picked using my handy dandy Custom Random Number Generator. Good luck and have fun!

Wanna win a signed copy of Sleepless and a dream catcher necklace? Head on over to Harmony's Book Reviews, where she's hosting me as her Author of the Month. Good luck!
Kimberly Pauley is having an online launch party with giveaways, from now until Sept. 10, for her debut book Sucks to Be Me: The All-True Confessions of Mina Hamilton, Teen Vampire (maybe)
* at The Official Sucks to Be Me Book Launch Par-tay!

Kimberly will feature a different author and associated giveaway each day. You can return each day to enter for that giveaway (and, Kimberly says, “to learn about some of the coolest authors around!”). You’ll have a whole week to enter each daily contest, and each entry will also count towards a grand Prize Pack. Sounds like a lot of fun. I love book giveaways.** So who’s in?
*As you probably guessed from the title, Kimberly’s book has a vampire theme–Mina’s parents are vampires, and she has to decide whether she wants to be one or not in a month. It sounds really interesting, and I’m not much into vampires. I’m already hooked.
**Also, don’t forget about the book giveaway here that ends Aug 31, with a new one starting Sept 1.
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do is one of TeenReads featured grab bag of books giveaways. As TeenReads is one of my favorite newsletters, I'm really tickled about this. Enter for your chance to win!
Welcome, Year of the Rat!
To help you celebrate, here are a couple of new books we can recommend…
Grace Lin has a sequel just out to her delightful Year of the Dog - called, appropriately enough, Year of the Rat. We’ll have our own review of it soon, in the meantime, you can read what Grace herself says about it here.
You can read here about another new book by Grace, this time a picture-book called Bringing in the New Year. There are some good “Lunar New Year” links on this post from Wild Rose Reader too.
And here are some more Chinese New Year picture books reviewed by PaperTigers:
The Year of the Rat: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac by Oliver Chin, illustrated by Miah Alcorn,;
The Great Race / The Story of the Chinese Zodiac by Dawn Casey, illustrated by Anne Wilson;
The Day the Dragon Danced by Kay Haugaard, illustrated by Carolyn Reed Barritt.
Do you have any special favorites you’d like to share with us?
…And a PS - do have a look at Grace Lin’s blog to read about her trip to China last month - there are some great photos too.
