some of the sketches i did while sunbathing
today was held the opening of the exhibition at the Natural Science Museum where the sketch contest was held in july. There are still two contests remaining then there'll be a final exhibition with all the works of the 3 contests together then the diplomas and prizes will be given, but that'll be in 2009.
Here's the penguin i did.
some sketches i need to make a little sculpture, seen from back-front-left-right using virtual pose.
i'll use the girl's sketches that's why i didn't do the boy's fourth sketch.
a new sketch contest was held today at the natural sciences museum. i didn't take my camera so i don't have an image of the penguin i sketched for the contest. anyway they said in august all our works will be shown at the museum so i'll surely soon be adding it here. i got the 3rd. place this time. it was fun (such a chill..) when i was almost done with the graphite then decided to add some ink washes, then i foolishly spilt some black ink on the paper, but fortunately i managed to cover it up adding more black ink when it hadn't been my plan. here are some of the sketches i did while we waited for the jury to decide.
i was fooling around with water on the page then adding some watercolour. when i spotted something i added some ink lines with a pen, then added a few touches of wc
more on series, literally series on a video, =)
So loose and lovely and colorful. What a fun exercise to just let the paints flow into a face!

I like this one a lot, Martin!
Thanks! I just put some water on the sketchbook page, then started to add pure colours from the pans with the brush, then suddenly a face appeared, so I added some ink lines with the pen then completed with some more watercolours. i felt so free, not being forced by any image to "copy" in front of me. Thanks for visiting!!
Ohhh I like this a lot.
