Nina Katchadourian's Sorted Books project has inspired numerous book spine poems. Also check out Travis Jonker's 2014 Book Spine Poem Gallery. You can even send in your own if you're so inspired!
I tried a few and could hardly stop myself. Good thing my bookshelves are somewhat limited! Do not set me loose in a library!

A beautiful spine poem -- and a wonderful gift to your daughter!
Martha -- I don't have a daughter, but I (obviously) am one. My mom gave me the first book, and in some way or another, all the gifts represented by the other titles. So more than a poem about the giving of gifts, this is actually a thank you poem. But you didn't need to know that for it to ring true for you...and that's one of the things I love about poetry!
