My almost 12 yr old daughter, Jenna, cannot WAIT for this new book to come out!!! BEST ENEMIES is now shipping from several online bookstores! It might even be in actual stores now or very soon. I'll have to start stalking this weekend and check.
I'm *always* caught off guard by the early releases. That said, I'm still going ahead with the pre-planned schedule of release week festivities. It'll celebrate the official release date, so yay!
I'm still shaking my head over this entire thing. And by that I mean how my fifth book is out. It's an indescribable feeling when a book hits shelves. This was the first book that I finished writing in New York, so it has special meaning.

Congratulations on book #5. If it makes you feel any better, the thrill doesn't wear off...at least it hasn't for me. I'm still excited the first time I see one of my new books in a store. My 10th MONK book/30th novel is coming out in a few weeks and I'm as excited about that as I was about my very first.

Ohmigosh! I'm beyond excited. I am positively dying to read Best Enemies. I would be thrilled if I won. Canterwood Crest was a book that I hadn't really heard about, and it hadn't been recommended to me. I found it by fate - just looking around in the bookstore and it was there. I bought it and proceeded to buy the next two, and was estatic when I found Triple Fault. I would be soooo happy if I got to read Best Enemies early. Please, pick me! Is there any way to private message you my email address? Because, well, I'm not so comfortable for other people seeing it. Hope you enjoy the teaser trailer for Best Enemies! It comes out on October 20, (a month away--eeee!) but most of the books have released at least a week early. So, here it is! :)

Yeeessss! I *finally* finished drafting BEST ENEMIES! This one took a lot longer (eek) than usual, but there was also a lot going on in my non-writing life. I started BE on March 20, so yeah, that took a while.
Now, I've got lots of editing to do on my own before it gets sent to Editor K. But at least the draft is down and I have words to rearrange and play with. Yay! :)
What're you guys working on? Update me!

I'm editing my YA novel right now, naming chapters, and generally oscillating between absolutely loving what I've written and thinking it's the worst piece of garbage on the face of the planet. Do you ever have that problem with your Canterwood books? Man, the writer's doubt just devours me when it strikes.
Regardless, I hope to start querying agents soon, and I'll be putting up a synopsis and maybe even the prologue of my book in audio-file form. Feel free to come check it out if you have time.
