1. FREE Today! The Visions of Ransom Lake by Marcia Lynn McClure

One of the most beloved western romances of all time, The Visions of Ransom Lake, still reigns as a top-selling Marcia Lynn McClure classic! Escape to the old west and adventure as you fall in love over and over again with Marcia Lynn McClure's most popular hero, Ransom Lake!

Youthful beauty, naïve innocence, a romantic imagination thirsting for adventure...an apt description of Vaden Valmont, who would soon find the adventure and mystery she had always longed to experience...in the form of a man.

A somber recluse, Ransom Lake descended from his solitary concealment in the mountains, wholly disinterested in people and their trivial affairs. And somehow, young Vaden managed to be ever in his way...either by accident or because of her own unique ability to stumble into a quandary.

Yet the enigmatic Ransom Lake would involuntarily become Vaden's unwitting tutor. Through him, she would experience joy and passion the like even Vaden had never imagined. Yes, Vaden Valmont stepped innocently, yet irrevocably, into love with the secretive, seemingly callous man.

But there were other life's lessons Ransom Lake would inadvertently bring to her as well. The darker side of life...despair, guilt, heartache. Would Ransom Lake be the means of Vaden's dreams come true? Or the cause of her complete desolation?

I love Marcia Lynn McClure! The Visions of Ransom Lake is one of my favorites! Get your Kindle Copy Free Today (I think this deal is good until Wednesday but don't wait just in case)!

2. 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop - Giveaway A Crimson Frost by Marcia Lynn McClure

The 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop is hosted by Intoxicated by Books.  More than 50 blogs are each hosting a giveaway.

Here on my blog I have a copy of one of my favorite Marcia Lynn McClure books: A Crimson Frost!

A Crimson Frost by Marcia Lynn McClure
Beloved of her father, King Dacian, and adored by her people, the Scarlet Princess Monet endeavored to serve her kingdom well—for the people of the Kingdom of Karvana were good, and worthy of service. Long Monet had known that even her marriage would serve her people. Her husband would be chosen for her—for this was the way of royal existence.

Still, as any woman does—peasant or princess—Monet dreamt of owning true love—of owning choice in love. Thus, each time the raven-haired, sapphire-eyed, Crimson Knight of Karvana rode near—Monet knew regret—for in secret, she loved him—and she could not choose him.

As an arrogant king from another kingdom began to wage war against Karvana, Karvana’s king, knights and soldiers answered the challenge. The Princess Monet would also know battle. As the Crimson Knight battled with armor and blade—so the Scarlet Princess would battle in sacrifice and with secrets held. Thus, when the charge was given to preserve the heart of Karvana—Monet endeavored to serve her kingdom and forget her secreted love. Yet, love is not so easily forgotten…

3. Book Review: The Chimney Sweep Charm by Marcia Lynn McClure

Title: The Chimney Sweep Charm
Author: Marcia Lynn McClure
Publisher: Distractions Ink
Released: December 7, 2011
Currently Available only through Marcia's WEBSITE
“There was the muffled sound of audience members standing up, and Baylee and Candice turned to look behind them.
“Holy smokes!” Baylee breathed.
“It’s like a Navy SEAL convention or something,” Candice added.
And it was! Baylee couldn’t believe that over twenty-five of the people in the orientation audience were tall, dark, handsome, buff guys dressed all in black. Each man stood with his feet apart and hands held at his back—similar if not exactly like a military “at ease” stance.
“They’re all packing heat too,” Baylee whispered to Candice as she noted all the holstered sidearms.
“I guess Mr. O’Sullivan wants to be prepared,” Candice said.
“I suppose you girls are all wowed now, right?” Tate said from the front row.
“Let’s see,” Candice began, looking to Tate and feigning an expression of thoughtfulness. “Let’s say I’m being assaulted by some weirdo in street…and who am I going to look to for protection? One of these guys?” she said, nodding toward the security staff. “Or you, Tate? You…who freaked out in June when we were in New York and you thought some guy was looking at you funny. You freaked out and slammed Megan’s finger in the door and cut it off! Who do you think I’m going to trust?”
“It was an accident, and you know it,” Tate grumbled.
Baylee did know it. Still, she found her eyes glancing down the row of chairs in front of her to Megan—to the missing first joint and fingertip on her right hand.
“Yeah, it was,” Candice admitted. “But you still cared more about yourself than Megan. The guy was stalking Megan…not you. Real heroic, Tate. Way to go to instilling a sense of confidence in me that you would have my back.”
“Whatever,” Tate grumbled, turning around in his seat to pout.”

I loved this book. It's a novella so it's short enough that can easily be read in one sitting. Perfect for getting in the Christmas Spirit.

The Chimney Sweep Charm is a sweet, romantic, "charming" Christmas Story set in a recreated Dicken's Village. Christmas carols, bell ringing, hot chocolate, mistletoe... all the elements needed to create an unforgettable holiday tale.  Marcia has created another set of fabulous characters.... From Baylee the bell ringer to the gorgeous, heroic Justice and his less than subtle grandmother fans of Marcia's books are sure to love these characters!

As is always the case with Marcia's shorter stories I just wish this book was longer. I was expecting a dramatic end to the "mysterious bad guy" element of the story and was a little surprised that things wrapped up fairly quickly and relatively drama free.  However that didn't take away from my love for this lighthearted, fun book.  The focus of this book was much more on the romance instead of the mystery and I love the way Marcia writes romance!

Thanks Marcia for this fabulous Christmas book!  For anyone who enjoys sweet, clean romance and is looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit give The Chimney Sweep Charm a chance.

The Pirate Ruse by Marcia Lynn McClure
Abducted! Forcibly taken from her home in New Orleans , Cristabel Albay found herself a prisoner aboard an enemy ship—and soon thereafter, transferred into the vile hands of blood-thirsty pirates! War waged between the newly liberated United States and King George. Still, Cristabel would soon discover that British sailors were the very least of her worries—for the pirate captain, Bully Booth, owned no loyalty—no sympathy for those he captured.
Yet hope was not entirely lost—for where there was found one crew of pirates—there was ever found another. Though Cristabel Albay would never have dreamed that she may find fortune in being captured by one pirate captain only to be taken by another—she did! Bully Booth took no man alive—let no woman live long. But the pirate Navarrone was known for his clemency. Thus, Cristabel’s hope in knowing her life’s continuance was restored.

6. Book Review: The Haunting of Autumn Lake by Marcia Lynn McClure

Title: The Haunting of Autumn Lake
Author: Marcia Lynn McClure
Release Date: October 26, 2011
Publisher: Distractions Ink
Tags: Clean Romance

Autumn Lake stopped cold in her tracks. She puffed a breath of summoning courage as she gazed at the old covered bridge before her. Ever since she was a child and Sawyer had read to her the fascinating yet thoroughly haunting story of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Mr. Washington Irving, Autumn had secreted a fear of bridges. Each time she was meant to cross a bridge (especially the old covered bridge on the far side of the orchards), she expected the ghostly headless horseman to appear and attempt to decapitate her. Oh, certainly the tale of the Specter did nothing to soothe her either, for it was said that this was to be a year of the Specter. As the story went, the local phantom, the Specter, only appeared once every ten years—but this was to be the year of the Specter, and Autumn did not like crossing bridges even when it was not a year of the Specter.
Gulping down her fear, however, Autumn glanced behind her, assuring herself that there was no headless horseman riding up behind her intent on stealing her head.
“He wouldn’t want a woman’s head anyway,” she mumbled to herself, even as rising fear caused her heart to pound in her chest. “And besides,” she said, looking back to the old bridge, “I’m eighteen years old…nineteen in less than a month. Surely I can cross the bridge without runnin’.”
Pulling her sketchbook to her chest and tightly folding her arms across it, she spoke aloud to the cattails. “Wish me luck, my darlings…for I do prefer to keep my head attached to the rest of me.”
As Autumn stepped onto the bridge, the roof blocked the warm sunshine, making the space inside the bridge dark and gloomy. Yet she’d expected this. What else would one expect of a covered bridge? After all, its very purpose was protection from the elements, and that included the heat of the summer sun. Naturally, Autumn preferred to think of its purpose as being made for something else—the seclusion necessary for the romance of lovers’ trysts.
She sighed with disenchantment for a moment—disappointment at never having had a lover of her own. She thought how different it would be to cross the old bridge if her arm were linked to that of a strong and handsome lover. Still, she had no lover, and the fact remained that she must indeed cross the bridge.

No surprise that I loved this story. I'm a huge Marcia Lynn McClure fan and love to escape into her clean romances. If you have not read a Marcia Lynn McClure book before I highly recommend you give her books a try. But don't start with this one. The Haunting of Autumn Lake is the sequel to her beloved book The Visions of Ransom Lake. You must read that book first to appreciate this one.

Marcia Lynn McClure's favorite season is Fall. Her love of all things autumn shows in this book. From pumpkins and apples to fall colors and ghost stories, this book was perfect for making me appreciate the beauty of this season. In the author's notes in the back there are even recipes for some of her fall favorites.

Handsome Ransom and Vaden are no longer newlyweds but are just as in lo

7. Book Giveaway: The Heavenly Surrender by Marcia Lynn McClure

"Dear Mr. McLean, I feel, as you do, that this arrangement will be beneficial and satisfactory for both of us. I agree that we, having committed to follow through with the previously corresponded terms, will legally marry upon my arrival next week. I expect nothing from you, save a place of residence, the required necessities of living, hard work to keep my mind and physical being occupied, and respect. I in turn will assist you in whatever is required to sustain and maintain your land and crops, while providing meals, doing mending, and fulfilling other non-intimate duties commonly performed by a man's legal wife. I will arrive in Blue Springs on the 10:00 a.m. train, April 3rd..."
Genieva Bankmans had willfully agreed to the arrangement. She had given her word and she would not dishonor it. Yet when she saw, for the first time, the man whose advertisement she'd answered...she was desperately intimidated. The handsome and powerful Brevan McLean was not what she'd expected-he was not the sort of man she'd reconciled herself to marrying. This man-the stranger whose name Genieva now bore-was strong-willed, quick-tempered and expectant of much from his new wife. Brevan McLean did not deny that he had married her for practical reasons only. He merely wanted any woman whose hard work would provide him assistance with the brutal demands of farm life. Still, Genieva would learn there were far darker things, grave secrets held unspoken by Brevan McLean concerning his family and his land. Genieva Bankmans McLean would find herself in the midst of treachery, violence and villainy-her estranged husband deeply entangled in it.

Oh how I love Marcia's Books! Seriously love them. Today is my birthday which meant my husband got up to get our 5 kids off to school so I could sleep in. But I'm used to waking up so I was wide awake. Since I didn't have to get up and couldn't sleep I decided I could spend my time how I wanted so instead of sleeping I chose to read a Marcia Lynn McClure book.  Good choice!

As is the case with all of Marcia's books, The Pirate Ruse did not disappoint. I loved this one! So much fun to read. It made me smile and laugh! How can you go wrong when you cross Marcia's writing with a pirate tale - You can't! And with a title like The Pirate Ruse you know you are in for an adventure... romance, battles, mystery, a devilish pirate, feisty heroine and lots of kissing.  A great way to spend the morning.

10. Waiting on Wednesday

“The Trove of the Passion Room is not simply a story. Nor is it only a fable, a legend or mere nonsensical superstition. It exists. There is a trove hidden in The Passion Room…a trove that has never before in its fullness been found—for it is hidden by the spell of passion that lingers within the room itself. The passion inspired of the room cannot be denied. It cannot be controlled or resisted. And as the influence of The Passion Room cannot be evaded, neither can the trove be revealed without absolute and consummate surrender to...” She paused as her eyes widened. “What?” she breathed. “No way!”

From Marcia:
"I LOVED writing The Trove of the Passion Room! I think it's one of my very, very favorite contemporary stories! The story is so close to my heart! And the hero is...how can I say this...INCREDIBLE! I know you want details...but I'm not sure what would best wet your whistle! Let's just say this for now...it's entitled The Trove of THE PASSION ROOM...will that do?"

Finally! Marcia Lynn McClure's newest book is almost ready to ship!! This is one I've been looking forward to for months! The Trove of the Passion Room is the newest clean romance by one of my all time favorite authors. I can't wait!

11. #BIR2010 - Book Giveaway Weathered Too Young & Windswept Flame by Marcia Lynn McClure + Author Interview

One of my absolute favorite discoveries of 2010 is author Marcia Lynn McClure and her clean romance books! It didn't take me long to read everything she's written and I loved them all. I've been fortunate to been able to correspond with and talk to Marcia on the phone and I adore her!

I sent Marcia a list of interview questions and she answered them all. So here we go with a fabulous interview with an author I love ... Marcia Lynn McClure!

Interview:

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Definitely the past! Late Victorian era or turn of the century (1899-1900), or the 1950s! Definitely the past!

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
(Other than my family?) My comic book collection (i.e. Calvin and Hobbes, Zits, Foxtrot), a working computer and printer, and my cds! If I had to pick one comic book it would have to be a Foxtrot collection…one cd…probably A Charlie Brown Christmas or Christmas with Connif!

What is one book everyone should read?
(Again—other than the obvious) The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving.

What is the last book you read?
Answering honestly—Hank the Cowdog! ADORED it!

What is the last movie you saw?
At the theater—Red…at home—The Young Victoria.

If you were a superhero what would your name be?
Sprinkling Happiness-Confection Girl!

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
Reading minds.

When you were 12 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
A wife and stay-at-home mom!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Chocolate Peanut Butter!

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
You mean besides the Savior or one of the prophets? Hmmm…I would have to go with Abraham Lincoln, Lord Alfred Tennyson or Elvis!

Which fictional character would you most like to meet?
Anne Shirley! Hands down!

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Bacon! Pancakes and Bacon, in truth!

How many books do you read a week/month?
At the risk of disappointing you…when one writes one doesn’t have much time to read. I only read about 1-2 novels a year. But I do read comic book collections, poetry and children’s books every day!

What's your favorite music genre? Favorite artist? Song?
Ooooo! Impossible to narrow down! I’m very very very eclectic with my music tastes! BUT I would have to say that Christmas music is my favorite genre…and my second would be beautiful movie soundtrack scores like Pride and Prejudice (2005), Sabrina by John Williams, most anything by Rachel Portman…things like that. I love the 80’s stuff, Aaron Neville, the 50’s, 30’s and 40’s…so many! As for a favorite artist…hmmm…Brian Crain is my favorite pianist/composer, Rachel Portman and John Williams are my favorite movie score folks, I like Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick Jr….okay wait I’m getting carried away! See? You’ve hit a nerve here! As for favorite song…hmmm…again impossible to determine. My favorite hymns is probably I Stand All Amazed and Silent Night…favorite 80’s tunes are The Brea
