Just wanted to wish you all the best for the coming year and beyond. May you all soar into 2008 on a stripey-socked wonder bird, and may all your dreams come true.

I just wanted to show you what I ended up doing for that anthology aimed at teenagers, instead of my underwater rave party (which I hope to finish at a later date) - i am happy with this, as I think it suits the age bracket better. thanks again for all your advice.
The anthology is in B&W but I did this in colour so I could use it in my folio. I think I actually like the B&W version better though - somehow the colour doesn't quite do it for me. what do you think?

Just a fun and whimsical painting I did after seeing a beautiful weeding party at a nearby park. The bride was dressed very similar to this and the bridesmaids had the most beautiful shade of soft baby blue for their dresses. Thought I'd share!

hey guys and gals,
what do you think of this?
a bit of a new treatment for me - using acrylics, collage, and a bit of coloured pencil for outlines where necessary (instead of my previous watercolours + black line)
I felt like I needed to break out of my black line style - it was feeling a bit heavy and somehow not refined. would love to hear your feedback!
Cheers

Did a bit of playing/dabbling in acrylics today and this was the result. Not quite sure how or why, but I was playing with colours and just placing paint down ...
I also have a small blank book that I carry around for ideas and whatever comes to mind and I thought I'd share some of the recent doodles and sketches from it:
These above were done in pen while waiting for lunch at a cafe ... the winnie-the-pooh keyring belongs to my mother!
Am not quite sure of what they say about me and the way in which I see the world, but that's something that perhaps I shouldn't ponder upon too much ... :D

I finally found time to scan and upload! This is the first oil "painting" I've done, at my beginner Oils class on Monday where we learned to mix colours:
Not the greatest I know ... I scanned it in finally as I haven't had time to take a photo of it, so it's not the whole painting, only the size the scanner accepted but I think it gives a good idea of my first work in oils since 1976!!
I then attended my first acrylics beginner class and again we learned to mix colours and this was (part of) the result:
Yes yes I know, they are absolutely amateurish but it's baby steps that I'm taking here and I am scanning them in the spirit of uploading even the works that are far from perfect ... it's a learning process! This is also the first acrylic painting I've done since 1976 ... eeek.
And finally, Bearuh was kind enough to invite me to join the Monday Artday ATC group, so I decided to try my hand at an ATC tonight as I had time to doodle while mum watched sports on TV :). This was the result:
2.5 x 3.5 inches. I know that they are all very simplistic and experimental but I'm pretty fond of them as they are the first in what I see as a future filled with tons of educational fun! Hope you like them as much as I do -- take them in the spirit in which they were made ... tons of enjoyment sprinkled with loads of humour! Cheers.
P.S.: Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has made such lovely comments on my last couple of drawings! And many apologies for my not being able to reply to comments or not visit your lovely sites as yet ... what with my mother being here and tons of work to catch up on I just haven't had the time, But I will as soon as I possibly can I promise. You are all wonderful and your feedback is SO much appreciated! Hugs to all of you!

Hi All,
wanted to see what you think of my new venture into acrylics. I've never used them before but I really like em. The colours are so bright and vibrant, and i think the little collagy bits work well to make it feel a bit different and special. These are painted on canvas so can hang without a frame - these are going to a friend's shop in Northern Australia, and I'm thinking I might approach some kids shops here in melbourne too. Let me know what you think!

What a great IF theme! I chose the character Raz, from the video game Psychonauts, because I just finished the game and I love the character design. I find this paining geeky on a few levels: 1. Fan art is geeky. 2. You could also say that the character Raz is geeky.
In any case, I adore the geeks. Probably because at heart I still am one.

Poppies are an unusual flower. sort of a flowery representative of society?... They have bright colours.. floppy petals. They seem happy. Yet people recognize they do have their dark side. They can be decorative or useful... They can be used for good.... or "not". They are recognized internationally as an emblem for remembering. They are one of my favourite flowers. 30x30 is the size of this canvas.... This is part of the series I am putting together for September

"There's worlds to be seen..." from my kid book, Things With Wings Are Amazing Things. (Please someone tell me to just publish the book! I've been sitting on it for awhile and debating if I should self publish or send it out in the rounds again.)
Oh I love your stripey sock bird. It does look like he can make your dreams come true.
